The book sounds heart-wrenching and poignant with luckily a happy end. But non-fiction books especially ones about cancer are not my cup of tea. Still I'm sure the book will find its reader. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

No parent should ever have to deal with cancer when it comes to their child. Mark was very brave in describing how hard it was on the family to get treatment for Lou. Thanks for the great review!

This story is emotional, heartbreaking and inspiring. Cancer is devastating, but even more so when its victims are the children. I'm glad that there are stories of survivors with no chances. Congrats on BOTD!

I can relate with this book so we'll. It is never an easy task to see someone you love go through pains because of ill health.

Definitely not my cup of tea, because this story hits way too close to a personal experience I would ever want to re-live. There is nothing harder than looking at your child's suffering knowing you can do nothing to help, even though prepared to do anything. No offence, I prefer to skip it, but congrats anyway.

The family now faced seven years filled with a multitude of tests, scans, protocols, and treatments. Lou alternated his time between the hospital and days at home with Harry, his older brother.
- Children seem to endure tough situations better than adults because they take one day at a time, rather than thinking too much about the tough situation's future and stressing out. A well-written review. Thank you.

This sounds so heartwarming, sad, and beautiful. Loving through such an experience can be tough and I'm very much interested in this little boy's life and the effect he had on his parents.

Lou's parents are worth emulating. They are strong and by enduring the struggles they went through to see their son get treated, they show the extend to which parents go to see their children are in good health. First Survivor seems like an interesting book to read. It's encouraging and gives the readers hope. Congratulations to the author on BOTD selection.

This sounds heartbreaking. I’ve never heard of the disease that he has, but I hope Lou makes it out okay and that his family no longer have to worry. Great review!

I'm glad Mark, Mary and Lou got their breakthrough. That must have been an ordeal for them. I don't read nonfiction, so I'll pass on this book.

The journey behind this story must have been by grace to reach a survival point, also l am sure readers who find themselves in such situations have a lot to learn from this novel which in a way will inspire those who think hope is lost. I love to read more. Great review.

It is such a sad inspiring story because no parent deserves to witness their child suffering from anything. The best thing about this story is that It gives hope to parents who are currently facing difficulties regarding their children.
