Review of The Dating Dance
The Dating Dance by Danielle Nowell is a romance book that features the lives of two lovebirds, Sarah and Theo. Sarah, a young dance instructor, and Theo, a paramedic, are in love. What happens when the force of distance and dreams try to pull them apart? Will their love for each other win, or will dreams happen to this love tale?
The story builds up slowly, which is beautiful because it gives an insight into the background of Sarah. The book explores her love interests before meeting Theo — both the good and the bad. This aspect of the book is important because the reader experiences a familiarity with Sarah before exploring her current love life.
The book chapters are also short. This makes for an exciting read where the reader will not be bored and can assimilate information from the book at a quick pace without any confusion. Apart from the short chapters, the book is also brief. The author goes straight to the point with no unnecessary storytelling and detailing.
The book succeeds in evoking emotion, which is the goal of every romance novel. The part where Sarah has to decide whether to go for her dream job or stay with Theo will keep readers on their toes. The author does well in evoking emotions from any reader and creating suspense.
The story was well-paced; there was no dragging in the storyline. The beginning, middle, and end were clear and flowed smoothly. There were no inconsistencies in the book. Though the ending of most romance books could be predicted, this book would leave any reader curious about what happened. The story and plot were captivating and engaging.
I couldn’t find anything I disliked about the book. It was also exceptionally edited; I couldn’t pinpoint any grammatical errors or mistakes. I’d rate The Dating Dance five out of five stars because of its exceptional editing and smooth storytelling. I’d recommend it to all lovers of romance and love stories.
