We are introduced to the personality of Magdalena Majick, also known as Maggie, and given a description of her environment. She works three part-time jobs: at the library, at Roy's Black Iron Grill, and at Tiffany's Trash and Treasure. She uses her earnings from these jobs to take care of herself and cater to the needs of others, including the homeless on the street. Though she had been repeatedly advised to reduce the rate at which she spends and cater to the needs of others, it's like pouring water into a basket. What motivates her generous act?

Tiffany had arrived at her shop that morning when she noticed that candles were lit inside the shop, accompanied by the cut window pane. Though the inside of her shop was dark, it was not outright dark because of the presence of the candles. She started blowing them out, and as a result, there was darkness all over because she didn't remember to turn on the light. Then she noticed some movements in the shadows on the other side of a rack of wooden carvings. This is the beginning of a mystery in Just Like Majick by Daniel L. Yoder.

I was inspired by the admonition given to Magdalena by Martha's mother, Angela. God is never a magician. He leaves us with choices and allows us the freedom to choose. So we are in a position to choose and live with the consequences of our choices. I also love Magdalena's generous act. I wish we had more people like her to take the homeless off the streets. She never gives up, despite so many words of discouragement from those around her. This could be seen when she was trying to find out who broke into Tiffany's shop and the person who had written the love letter.

There were a few things that I disliked in this book. First, I found some errors in it, which suggest that the book should undergo another round of editing to ensure quality. Second, I find the methods and processes by which Magdalena arrived at her conclusion confusing at times, to the extent that I have to reread to ensure I understand properly before moving on. Apart from the dislikes mentioned above, there was nothing else that I disliked in this book.

Considering both the positive and negative aspects of the book, it deserves a rating of four out of five stars. I deducted one star because of the negative aspects mentioned. I like that the chapters are not so lengthy. The author kept them brief and easy to read, and as such, the reader is being carried along. The characters were well portrayed without any form of confusion. I will recommend this book to anyone interested in mysteries and weird love stories because they will enjoy it.

I admire the giving personality of Majick, I also love the suspense this review gave me as I wonder what would have happened after blowing the candle lights.

The chemistry is electric, and you can't help but root for them as they navigate the dangerous world of the faerie realm. The author's writing is so rich and vivid that you can feel the magic pulsing through every page. The descriptions of the lush landscapes and eerie creatures will transport you to another world.

What I loved most about this book is how it explores the power of love and the importance of self-discovery. facing incredible obstacles throughout their journey, but their love for each other gives them the strength to persevere. In the end, they realize that the only way to truly be happy is to embrace who they are and what they want out of life.

Overall,It's a must-read for anyone who loves a good love story with a touch of magic. I highly recommend it!

The mystery behind a movement in the shadows had me. If I were Maggie, I never would've forgotten to turn on the lights! I love Maggie's generosity. It's something most people should attempt to learn because there are so many needy people out there, and despite the fact that one person cannot satisfy the needs of all, it goes a long way to at least satisfy the needs of some. Nice review!

I was expecting a fairytale but I discovered that the story is far from it. However, it contains themes and lessons that will benefit us and the world at large. I am particularly interested in the end of the mystery. Great review.
