'If Only Tears Could Bring You Back' by Midnight Sons. It was the first song I heard after finding out an old friend had died and I now associate the song with his death

Tears in Heaven-Eric Clapton
One of the most emotional songs ever written...Clapton stopped doing it live some years ago, that's how sad it is.

Tiny Dancer-Elton John
Used to sing it to a daughter I haven't seen for more than a decade.

I Will Always Love You-Dolly Parton
Whitney's version is better known but Dolly's was first. No vocal gymnastics just alotta feeling.

Free Bird-Lynyrd Skynyrd
My age is showing...it's too bad this became something of a white trash joke... really it's beautifully timeless.

Janis Ian - At Seventeen
It only takes the first few cords and I'm right back at that uncomfortable age.
We fade away, but vivid in our eyes
A world is born again that never dies.

Dont Rob Another Mans Castle - Eddy Arnold.

That song came out when I was around 11 or 12, it always affected me, I thought it was the saddest thing ever written. Even today when I hear it it hasent lost any of its power to create emotion.

Ave Maria is a good one. I liked the version from Disney's Fantasia.

I remember them. That was a great movie and song.

Our song was Buddy Holly's True Love Ways.
