Review of Involuntary Reroute
In this book – Involuntary Reroute, the author, Robert Laney, exposed so many deceptions about the Airline Industries, and the tricks they use to fill their overvalued first-class seats. In this book, the agent travel business started by Jack and the mother was explored, and the challenges and the obstacles that they have to face. The underlying message in this book is “Never to Give Up”. Jack was ready to sustain the business through any means possible, he wasn’t discouraged amid the ups and downs they faced. Through Jack’s determination and help from his Babson College friends, he was able to regain their balance. In the end, we were able to see that the little Agent Travel Business started by a mother and son transformed into a business whose value is worth 18 Million Dollars. The journey, at last, was worth the experience and challenges and are indeed a true Involuntary Reroute for Robert Laney.
This book taught me about the importance of not giving up on that small business as an entrepreneur. It also revealed the importance of taking responsibility for any negative outcome in the business because is then that one will be able to look for solutions to solve the problem. In business, things that can discourage us from pushing harder will surface, and we will face challenges and obstacles and even betrayal as was seen in this book- but is in our interest to rise above all the challenges and obstacles and push harder for us to achieve our desired goals in the business.
There's no negative aspect I found in this book. One of the lessons I learned from this book is that - before I implement any idea in my business, I should be able to run an underground check of the idea, to fully understand the pros and cons that will come with it and I also learned that giving up on a business because of one negative move is never an option if I must achieve my desired goal.
I’m rating this book 4 out of 4 stars- because this book is a mastermind and an eye-opener to some challenges one can encounter in business as an entrepreneur.
I recommend this book to every entrepreneur out there struggling to keep up with his/her business and on the verge of giving up and to anybody that is business-minded. It will go a long way to help the person.
