Moon did not have it easy. However the story will put hope in people going through life struggle since the novel is very encouraging. Great review.

This is quite a lot for one person to have experienced at such a young age. Loss of his mother, separation from his father across dangerous borders and then the death of his only constant, his grandmother. I couldn't imagine.

This is a great review. I’m intrigued to read such an inspiring story. I thank the author for offering this book for free as the book of the day. I am thankful to hear there are heroes like the father that took the boy in and the grown up boy wanting to follow in his footsteps. There is light in the world.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting memoir about a man who was raised by his grandmother in North Korea and then moved to South Korea where he learned about Christianity. However, as the Korean War progressed, he journeyed to America while retaining his Christian lessons and teachings. It might be worth a second look. Well done.

This book was so exciting all through till the end of it. It was hard to put down. It is truly amazing how this boy survived so much turmoil and grew to be such a worker for God. I would recommend this book to anyone seeking an incredible adventure and living through a boy with such determination. Uplifting and encouraging. A true testimony that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

"The bulletproof missionary" by Keriz Rosado. An interesting book, talks about Rosado as he narrates Shang Ik Moon’s journey from North Korea to America. Moon have to survive on his own after being brought to South Korea from North Korea. Moon's life changed when he was introduced to Christianity through Chaplain Vajda. Congrats on your #BOTD.

I enjoyed your review. However, I am not into Christian literature, although I am Catholic, so I think that I will pass on this one.

It's evident that you appreciate the significance of Moon's choice to embrace Christianity, particularly due to the profound influence of Chaplain Vajda. Your thoughtful commentary on this aspect demonstrates your ability to delve into the nuances of the characters' motivations.

I love to read true stories of real people, and this definitely is one of those; Moon has lived quite an extraordinary life. This book also shows how one man’s kindness turned around a life of another person. I don’t think Moon would’ve become a missionary without Chaplain Vajda. I’d like to think that we all can be a life-changing person for someone.

It looks like a book that will make you travel, not only physically, but through the protagonist and his experiences, as well as spiritually.

This is a great review. Like you, I wished that this story wasn't non-fiction. The young boy suffered such heart wrenching hardships. It is great that he responded to the positive things in his life and had a mentor to look up to. We can learn valid lessons from this. I also believe that religion aside, anyone could benefit from reading the story of Shang Ik. He is a true survivor despite the odds. The political situation and history between North and South Korea makes interesting reading. Many people are not aware of all that happened, especially during the war. Definitely a story for adults. I prefer true stories so this is one for me. BOTD - congratulations, and thanks for the free download.

This story speaks about Moon's life and the hardships he faced at such a young age. It is the third book in a series. It's fascinating to read about why he chose Christianity as his faith because it is quite a unique experience. Congrats on the BOTD!
