I like that the book highlights the problems women must face as they face societal prejudice because of their traditional roles as mothers. Thanks for the review.

It's hard to imagine that in 1966, not so long ago, women had to struggle to be allowed to study. Hard to imagine women were forced to have abortions. I feel this is a book triggering strong emotions, one I will read to find out how Candy faces and overcomes the challenges.

This was quite an emotional read for me. Health isn't something to be played with. I hope Candy was able to pull through in the end. Congrats on BOTD.

Abortion sometimes does more damage than leaving that child to be born. This sure is an intriguing book. I'll like to read more on it. Congrats on getting the BOTD. It is truly well deserved.

This seems like a well-rounded and intriguing historical fiction novel. Candy endures many struggles in her life, so I am glad the readers have a good conclusion at the end. I think I would enjoy this novel, so will put it in my reading list. Thanks for an excellent review, and congrats to the author on BOTD!

Latest Review: How I became a mother of seven by Calanda J. Owens

I hope it all turns out well for Candy. I can imagine what life was like for women in the past. Their career choices were not supported and it was almost abominable for a woman to desire to become anything other than a wife and mother.

Although I am not for abortion or in vitro, I enjoyed this book. I myself deal with infertility. I am a true believer in women being home with kids and to obey and care for husband. The mother in this story seems to be a bit pushy for her daughter to meet a guy, get married, and have kids.
This is a book I would definitely recommend reading. The detail the author puts into the book makes it feel like you’re there. It is so easy to visualize the weather, the abortion, and just growing up in that household. Such a wonderful read.

After going through an illegal abortion, the protagonist dreamed of a better healthcare for women. I'm interested in books with strong female protagonists so I'm excited about this.
