Cozy crime sounds interesting. I was intrigued by the ending of this novel. I also appreciated the book title; it was striking and fascinating. Thanks for the thorough review. Great job.

Today's BOTD is a cozy crime mystery that'll leave you wondering - as suggested in the title - what really goes on behind closed doors. Filled with suspense and wonder, readers will be fully engaged from start to finish as they unravel the mystery behind Tammy's disappearance. Thank you for your helpful review! :-)

"Fair Game Foul Play" by Daniel Pascoe presents a captivating premise of hidden truths and secrets behind closed doors. While the storyline holds potential for a compelling movie adaptation, the pace and characterization have some shortcomings. The abrupt introduction of discord between the main characters could have been handled more subtly, and the portrayal of the couple's outward appearance versus their actual personalities feels inconsistent. The excessive inclusion of mundane details and hobbies that don't contribute to the plot could have been streamlined for a tighter narrative. The reviewer rates the book 3 out of 4 stars, noting minor errors that didn't hinder the story. The book is recommended for fans of cozy crime, likened to "Murder She Wrote" or Anne Cleeves's writing, but readers sensitive to profanity should be cautious. Trimming the word count might broaden the book's appeal to a younger audience.

I am curious about the nature of Tamara's relationship with Ben, her husband's womanizing golf buddy. What was their connection? Why did she feel comfortable confiding in him? I am also interested in learning what happened to Tamara after she was reported missing.

Thank you for your review. I am generally fond of a story with a grumpy old man and enjoy a cozy crime but I struggle with mundane. I am definitely considering picking this up because I want to know what happened!

Truly nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors. This book is interesting because of the crime and investigation mix by its creative author. Congrats on BOTD. Amazing review.

Not sure I feel engaged to the story; though the plot sounds interesting, it is a common one: relationships that seem nice on the outside until you discover it's not so nice inside.

I love a good mystery novel and I appreciate that the author doesn’t start out with the “perfect” couple but highlights their imperfections as one would see in real life. Thank you for your detailed review and audience recommendations!

Congrats on BOTD!
We would surprise anyone with our private behavior, even the mildest among us. You never know what goes on behind closed doors or behind the happy pictures on social media, as the neighbors of serial killers are wont to comment when they are caught.

With only a few exceptions, I'm not much of a fan of "cozy crime." But from the review, it appears that those who enjoy less hard-boiled crime stories will enjoy this, and, as such, I wish that the author finds an appreciative readership.

While sampling the book in Amazon I went through the note just before the first chapter and found it interesting. Then I went through the initial pages and story started to unfold where Tamara started hiding about meeting her daughter from her husband and all the thrill and suspense started to build in the minds of the readers. I think I will go through the whole book soon.
Thanks for a precise and honest review.

There is definitely a mystery here as to why Arnie lost his temper and where Tammy is. Thank you for your review.
