This book starts off strong with dialect and descriptions. I like how the main character shows a calm confidence in his skills but can also show his emotional side when it comes to his mother. It seems like this is going to be a read that I can really get sucked into fast.

I liked the detail and authentic sailing terminology. I liked the characters. The story seemed to move slowly but that is ok. Great choice for BOTD.

I totally agree with the reviewer that many today are in marriages with people they don't love and this leaves them regretting the rest of their lives. The story of Maureen and Marcus or Mark and Marla seems to be an interesting fictional story infused with themes of love, regrets, and mystery. I would love to read the book to find out more about Mark and Marla.

A mystical story of love and romance set in the 1800s'. Marcas, a young sailor, meets Maureen, a beautiful, kind young woman willing to help anyone in need. While having a meal at the pub that Maureen runs, a couple arrive. They are a poor couple, who lost their only son at sea, but they continue to search for him, as there doesn't seem to be record of his death. The man's wife is very ill and soon passes away. The sample ends with the group planning a trip to bury his wife. After reading your review, I'm very interested in finding out what happens next. A great review!
