Because:
- Reading takes me places that might or might not exist on this earth,
- I can be a pirate, or a soldier, or a man, or a teenager who saves the world, or a fantastic creature,
- Books are my friends, they teach me things, open my mind to new ideas,
- Books were there when people at my school refused to be my friend,
Do I need to say more?

I think it began as escapism, but now I love the literary element of it. The awe I feel when reading a book and marvelling at how someone's human brain came up with something so beautiful.

I love reading because I get to visit other worlds and meet people I'd never meet otherwise. I love reading because it sparks my imagination and teaches me things I might never have known otherwise. Plus, people always assume you're smart just for reading a lot LOL

Like is not the word I would use.
I love reading. As for the reason, it takes me away from my own reality. I live a different life every time I start a new book, and when I finish that last page I end up feeling like I lived through it.
Reading a book is like having a cinematic experience inside my head and often the protogonists are faceless.
Each book is a different life, different experience, different reality. Maybe that is why it is so addicting.

I love reading because it gives me an escape and takes me places I’ll never go in life. I especially love the fantasy romance sub genre with epics adventure and magic with character relationships.

Books, especially classic novels teach us more about the way of life than anything else ever does. They help build our intellect, sharpen our skills and induce good habits.

Originally, I didn't love reading. It took a long time to read a novel. I was impatient and only read what was required in school. I have J.K. Rowling to thank for my love of reading. I read the first Harry Potter in high school and, for the first time, was taken to another world. I enjoyed it so much that I began to look for other books that could transport me away from my teenage drama.
Over time, my tastes have evolved to encompass a wider variety of books. I enjoy learning what it's like to live differently than I have. I enjoy seeing things from other people's perspective. I enjoy discovering things that I never would have come across any other way. Bonuses: I now have a stronger vocabulary. I can read a novel in a day!

I love reading because I get to explore different topics and gain vast knowledge on the same. Also, reading for me is therapeutic so it really is important for me to read.

I remember as a child, I would go to the library with my Mom and get the weekly limit of 15 books every single week. Then, it was pure escapism...I could get lost in a book. As I got older, reading became more a part of my education and I longed to just read for pleasure! I'm a naturally curious person and books definitely scratch that itch. I love learning and being able to have conversations with people that aren't about the weather or mundane things. My mind needs mental stimulation or I get bored. I'm back to a place where I can read mostly for pleasure...I just fear that there isn't enough time on this earth to read all the books I want to read!
