Seraphina and Steele Paige live an ordinary life with their parents. The twins constantly fight and bicker, but they have a special bond, and they know they will kill for each other without blinking. So when their parents die in a car accident while they survive, they discover their unusual lineage. They are shocked to learn that supernatural creatures exist, and they are one of them. Seraphina gets consumed by all the plots she concocts with Julian, Thane, Brock, and Hunter to decipher the clues to save the world from the darkness and chaos that the Third Air is threatening to engulf the world in before the Snow Moon, all while navigating her way through a new high school and adjusting to her new powers. On the other hand, Steele is struggling with his grief over the death of their parents, their new reality, their supernatural heritage, and his guilt over his failure to protect his sister, causing him to invite darkness into his soul.

This book was a pleasure to read. I enjoy fantasy and supernatural stories, and Snow Moon by Piper Duncan amazed me with its well-developed characters, well-constructed setting, and fresh take on witches, vampires, and shapeshifters. I commend the author for creating a plot that is distinct from the standard supernatural novels that I have read hundreds of times, and I was expecting this to be another one. Her simple language is another reason to like this book.

The main reason I admire this book is that the author was trying to convey a message within its pages and didn't focus only on the entertainment part, which is unusual for this genre. Throughout the book, the author emphasizes the need to consider our actions and their impact on others. Just because we do not instantly witness the consequences of our actions does not mean that karma will not catch up with us, either in this life or the next. I appreciate the way the author addressed this topic by personifying karma. It made it easier to understand the reason for his actions by explaining them and connecting them to reality. The plot exhibits the author's illustration of how positive things may always come from negative situations if you allow them to.

There was nothing that I disliked about this book. However, I would have liked a clearer insight into Julian's feelings for Seraphina. I was as confused as she was about him. It was clear from some of his actions and his subtle attempts to help her that he cared about her, but I would have appreciated a clear view of his perspective and an explanation for some of his actions. He was an attractively mysterious character. As dark and dangerous as he was, he acknowledged his mistakes, accepted their consequences bravely, and did his best to rectify the wrong things he did, which I admired about him. There was also the reason behind Scarlett's actions toward the twins that was left unexplained and what caused the change in her behavior at the end of the book.

This delightful book kept me glued to its pages from the beginning to the end. It was fast-paced, and I never felt bored or overwhelmed with information, which I appreciated. I believe this professionally edited fantasy and mystery novel deserves 5 out of 5 stars. I didn't deduct points because the lack of explanation for the few things I highlighted before didn't detract from my enjoyment of the book.

I recommend this book to all fantasy and supernatural fans. I have to admit that I immediately looked for the sequel after finishing this one, but I believe it has yet to be released. I'm looking forward to reading the sequel and more books by Piper Duncan.
