I remember he used to do that profile bit at the beginning & he used to start with "Good evening" in that really menacing voice ... that's when I used to run behind the sofasuzy1124 wrote:Could very well be Fran, i never missed a show...

Now, thats the story but the truth is probably that Anne had a fling with a passing sailor and the family were so ashamed of the pregnancy (they were elite and prominent members of society) they locked her away then killed the child at the birth. An infant skeleton was found walled up in the Tapestry Room during renovations in 1870. Anne was so angry at how her family treated her she allegedly devil worshipped in order to curse the house, a priest had to be called in to exorcise the house, now this is 100% true as its down on record in the Catholic church and the priest, Thomas Broaders, is buried with the epitath that he banished the Devil from Loftus Hall. Father Broaders almost died from the effort of the week long exorcism and in the end could only contain the evil to one room- the Tapestry Room. That room was locked up and never used when nuns took over in 1890, it remained locked up right up to 1980 when new owners took it over as a hotel and even then they only opened it twice a year to give it a quick 5 minute clean and got out as fast as possible.
Sadly the Hall seems to genuinely be cursed as bad luck followed anyone who took it over. The nuns lasted 20years before a series of very strange deaths (people dying on the famous Grand Staircase in the middle of the house, drownings, a lot of suicides) led them to move on. The hotel owners husband dropped dead one day on the Staircase and his hair was white when they found him, the owners moved out and boarded up the place. Now its open as a tourist attraction, they have left the Hall pretty much as they found it and opened it up for tours. Having been on 2 tours, I can easily say the place has an absolutely horrible and malevolent atmosphere, from the faded wallpaper to the old church and the infamous Tapestry Room where they bring you into and it hits you straight away that the room is evil. Taking away any gimmicks and drama, that room is genuinely frightening and Im a skeptic who thinks 99% of ghost sightings and haunted are fake. Certainly the place left me scared for weeks afterwards and I would never return there, I felt a thousand eyes watching me in that place. Anyway, that was a long post! If anyone is interested in seeing some of the interior and exterior of the Hall, I add a link to a local Radio Station, BeatFM, when they took a tour of the place. Eerie!

I just knew Boris Karloff or Vincent Price would be joining us at the long dinner table in the great hall...( "Haggis " was a l'il scary too ), but in reality was reminiscent of " Kishka /stuffed Derma " found in any respectable N.Y.C. Jewish Deli worth its weight in " Schmaltz "
The kicker was sleeping in the same bedroom as Mary Queen of Scotts slept in during her time at the castle............quite an experience albeit scary and stressful...

I just read this the other day and laughed at how silly I was to be creeped out by it.
