This is a kind of mind-hacking novel filled with thrillers and suspense. I will love to read it and know more about the ending . I love this review, it is a well detailed review. Well, the Iran may have another plan against the people. This is my first time of hearing the kind of toxic substance - polium. Congrats on BOTD!

The author of 'Waterworks' states that it is fiction and none of this has happened. But the science and technology are real and available. That is quite scary. The fact that factual data were incorporated into the novel will make it a very intriguing book to read.

I've always been a big fan of spy based tv shows and movies, but I've never really thought about reading those types of stories until recently. Now, I'm a few spy books in, but they've all been by one specific author. I'm excited to dive into this book, especially because you mentioned that although this is book 5 for Lara and Uri, this book is a standalone. Which means I won't be lost (hopefully). The other books I've read were also a part of a series, and with those, I was a bit lost as I didn't start with the first in the series.

This book is thriller novel that follows the adventures of Lara and Uri, two agents who work for Israel’s Mossad and are called to help the FBI stop a terrorist plot involving radioactive water contamination in Los Angeles. The book is the fifth in a series, but it can be read as a standalone story. It is a fast-paced and suspenseful book that explores the themes of terrorism, espionage, sabotage, and international relations.

The review caught my attention from the first line, and if the review is so eye-catching, I wonder how much more interesting the book would be. :D

According to the reviewer, "Waterworks" by Jack Winnick is a fast-paced and attention-grabbing book and has recommended for thriller fans, but as it contains some violence, it is not suitable for kids or sensitive readers.

Waterworks is a novel and fiction book that I enjoy reading about the science and technology. Reading about political figures within the Iranian regime and the murder by poisoning of Russian dissident Alexander Litvinenko, should be very interesting to how they deal with a nuclear reactor.

"Waterworks" by Jack Winnick is an absolute page-turner! From the very first chapter, I was hooked and couldn't put it down until I reached the end. This is book five in the Lara and Uri series, but it stands alone perfectly, so you can jump right in even if you haven't read the previous books.

What struck me the most about this novel was the author's incredible attention to detail. Sometimes, spy novels can get convoluted, and you're left scratching your head about how the characters got from one point to another. But not here. Winnick lays out everything in a clear and straightforward manner, making it easy to follow the protagonists' journey, from obtaining new identities to infiltrating Iran and gaining access to crucial intelligence.
One thing I appreciate about "Waterworks" is the realism it brings to the genre. Jack Winnick's background as a Professor Emeritus of Chemical Engineering at Georgia Tech and his deep knowledge of Middle East affairs shine through. The technology described in the book is not just fictional; it's grounded in reality, which adds an extra layer of authenticity and makes the plot all the more chilling.
As for the content, there's no explicit sexual content, just some kissing, and the profanity is minimal. However, be aware that there is violence in the story, although it's not overly graphic. Due to the terrorism theme and the violence, I wouldn't recommend this book for children or sensitive readers.
One thing to note is that "Waterworks" is clearly written from a pro-USA and pro-Israel standpoint. If that's something that might bother you, it's worth considering before diving in.
In summary, "Waterworks" is a gripping thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat. With its well-crafted plot, attention to detail, and realistic portrayal of espionage, it deserves a solid four out of four stars. I highly recommend it to readers who enjoy fast-paced spy thrillers with a dose of real-world relevance. Happy reading!
