This is an excellent review that is highly detailed and well-written. I admire the author's courage in addressing sensitive topics such as corruption and business ethics. These are issues that many people hesitate to openly criticize. Books like this are essential for our society to become more aware of the frequent problems we encounter in the business world and to understand how to prepare to get into this world.

As the saying goes; power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. I think the book touches very interesting themes that are easily relatable in the society and business world. Congrats to the author on being the #BOTD!

Deep corruption threatened to ruin jobs and harm lives. Intimidation, distrust, and secrecy became the norm among the executive management group of Chelan County Public Utility.

Sadly, these behaviors are very common. People with wealth and power tend to feel entitled and often misuse both. I am curious to find how the protagonist Gordon maintains his stand. Amazing review that effectively summarizes the book to pique interest. Congratulations to the author on BOTD!

I recommend this book to those who are in the business sector and to those who are experiencing working under an iniquitous boss, as they will learn from it.

Usually, I don't read business books but your review makes this sound interesting, especially the part of connecting with the family. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this book.

I have always remembered John Maxwell's statement that everything rises and falls on the wings of leadership; it seems the situation Gordon Graham had to face demonstrates this. The good thing is that he was close to his family, as others would choose to withdraw. Thanks for the review.

Good review of an amazing story. A rather complex tale but handled well by the author. Definitely one I'd like to read completely. Didn't know what to expect from the title but after reading the information before the first chapter, my interest was piqued. Made perfect sense. All too many workplaces don't function ethically. The results when they don't, is damaging to workplace morale as well as to overall productivity. Fancy putting people into jobs they have no proper understanding of. And making a place of work like a warzone. Such a timely story. Great choice for BOTD.

I must say this is a good review. The book looked boring to me, but the review has shown me it just might be worth reading. A lot of businesses and leaders are getting it all wrong, and if this book can give us a better understanding of how to get things right, then the author has done well.

The book's focus on power and its influence on behavior, as seen through the lens of Charlie Hosken's leadership, highlights important themes such as mismanagement of funds, misuse of power, and poor project planning. These are critical issues that often affect organizations and their employees.

I applaud the reviewer for delivering a comprehensive and insightful evaluation of Gordon Graham's book. The reviewer adeptly distilled the book's key themes and skillfully emphasized their points of admiration. I was particularly impressed by the reviewer's acknowledgment of the critical problem that often plagues organizations: the hasty assignment of tasks or positions to individuals lacking the requisite knowledge.

The Intrepid Brotherhood: Public Power, Corruption, and Whistleblowing in the Pacific Northwest is a book written by Gordon Graham and John Desimone. They write about leadership, corruption, business ethics, and public affairs in this new book. There are some heroes and some villains in this story and as you read you will be happy when some refuse to be bribed and you will be amazed at the depths some will stoop to just to achieve their desires. When the leadership in a workplace is corrupt it affects all the workers, their families and the community. When everyone backs away for someone calling attention to corruption yet their family supports them it is important to take note that family should always be there for one another.
If you're going through hell, keep going.

Today's BOTD is a true story of how Gordon Graham fought against and voiced his disagreement about the unethical and corrupt business practices of the executive team led by Charlie Hosken at Chelan County PUD. This book will serve as a great lesson for those who struggle under a boss who does not share their vision or leadership skills, and it will give them the courage to stand up for what's right. Congratulations on the BOTD!
