Review of Beyond the Bowling Ball Bombing
Kordel Lentine is the author of the science fiction book Beyond the Bowling Ball Bombing. The From Under the Sun series' debut novel It focuses on Terrance Brown, a teen whose life was changed by being struck by a bowling ball. Terrance Brown is your standard nerd—he gets outstanding grades, has nobody to hang out with, and is frequently bullied. On his walk home from school, he comes across a bowling ball that crashes out of the sky and does damage to nearly everything that was in the area at the time. Being the only witness to the bowling ball bombing, he rose to fame as its sole survivor. But nobody is able to trace the origin of the bowling ball.
Terrance was searching for answers, and when he finds a mystery puzzle box with an inscription that foretells the very day and hour Terrance will open it, he feels as though he may have found them at last. But sadly, cracking the code will bring up more problems than answers, leaving Terrance with an unclear future and endangering the life of a dear friend. It could be more than "Bad, Bad Terrance Brown" can take, but he won't give up until he's shown the school and the town what a math nerd who loves puzzles is capable of.
The majority of the book describes what happened after he figured out the puzzle box's mystery. Time travel takes on a prominent role to the extent that several pages are devoted to discussing its regulations.
I adored the way the author created tension throughout the novel by highlighting the issues Terrance hadn't yet understood and the unexpectedness of the story's resolution. I really adored the way Blaire Reynolds wrote her characters. She appears to be a stereotypically popular girl at first glance. She is a cheerleader that everyone wants since she is stunning, blonde, and talented. The book has several fantastic and creative sci-fi elements. The author's futuristic outlook is unique and full of fascinating possibilities.
Nothing about the book bothered me. Although the scientific parts can occasionally be difficult to understand, it is not required for readers to comprehend everything. The novel doesn't include any violence or vulgarity. neither explicit nor erotica. I didn't discover any mistakes. The book seems to have been edited by a professional.
I gave this book a rating of 5 out of 5 because it was well-edited, captivating, and creative. In my opinion, young adults and adults who enjoy science fiction, mysteries, and time travel should read this novel.
