Charlie is a rig supervisor in the oil industry. As she drills an oilwell for Triple Play, an investor new to the drilling industry, she encounters a body in the mud sump.

It would be intriguing to read a well-written murder mystery set in an odd location, like an oil rig, with a woman serving as the manager. I appreciate your excellent review

The plot is unusual and intriguing due to the presence of a female Charlie as the manager of the oil rig, a troubled wife, and a double murder. Everything a reader would like to know before choosing a book is covered in an amazingly crisp analysis. Congratulations to the author for winning BOTD!

I really like cozy mysteries as a subgenre, they have a specific atmosphere - relaxing and entertaining at the same time. Therefore, I am always pleased to get recommendations on good ones, even though the reviewer keeps the intrigue and doesn't let out much in the description. It seems like the beginning of quite a promising series and I gladly accept your gift of free book. Congratulations on BOTD!

Sounds exciting that the clues are there, pointing in the right direction, without it being obvious.

Laney K, thanks for the review of Derrick of Death by Malvina Lerma.

The aspects of the book that you liked included a great mystery story about the discovery of the murdered body found on the oil drilling site managed by the main character Charlie, the fact that the identity of the killer was not revealed until the end, the use of conversations between the book's characters to illustrate the technical aspects of oil drilling, and that the book seems to have been professionally edited.

Your gave this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars! It sounds like any mystery story lover will enjoy this book.

I love that the reviewer stated about well-executed murder mystery, effective use of red herrings, and the incorporation of technical details about drilling without overwhelming the reader. Thanks for recommending the book to the fans of strong female leads and murder mysteries.

I can enjoy a murder mystery like this one from time to time, especially if the plot has been thoroughly developed, which is the case. And I wouldn't mind learning bits of information about the oil industry as I enjoy the story.

I had not thought about the extra appeal in the book by bringing such a strong female character in it.

"Derrick of Death" by Malvina Lerma is a murder mystery centered around Charlie. As a female oil rig manager, Charlie got a job, but everything will come to a halt when she finds a body on the site. I like that the book also includes the technological aspect of drilling business.

I love a good "who done it" and this sounds like exactly the kind of book I like. Having a woman in a man's job and learning something about oil fields is just a bonus.
Thanks for the great review.
