A mystery with a female oil drilling manager as a main character. Follow Charlie’s adventure after she finds a body on site and keep on guessing who the murderer is until the very end! Great review, I love how you highlighted the fact that you couldn’t point out who the killer was until the very end of the book!

I'm drawn to the way Derrick of Death combines a murder mystery with technical insights into oil drilling. The mystery's expert execution and the strong character of Charlie have piqued my interest.

Your review shows the mystery aspect of this book. Any author capable of using those red herrings to conceal the murder is skilful. I wouldn't be keen on the technical side of the book; not really of interest to me.

This seems like an intriguing and expertly-written murder mystery novel. It's great to hear that it was not obvious who was responsible for what was happening. I don't like it when it's too predictable. Thanks for a great review and congrats to the author on BOTD! I may give this one a go 🙂

This is an intriguing mystery book where Charlie discovers a body in her place of work which is linked with the death of their friend who had died during a dinner under suspicious circumstances. A proper introduction to the more technical aspects of drilling an oil well captures my attention. Thanks for the review.

Thanks a million for sharing your thoughts on "Derrick of Death" by Malvina Lerma. It's awesome to hear you loved the murder mystery – those red herrings really keep you on your toes, right? And I totally agree, the way they snuck in the nitty-gritty oil well details was spot on. It's like you get to learn something new without feeling overwhelmed. A solid 5-star rating from you is fantastic, and I'm stoked to hear you couldn't put the book down. It's always a good sign when minor errors are all you've got to mention. Kudos to the author! I'll definitely recommend it to my friends who dig strong female leads and a good ol' murder mystery. Thanks again for your awesome review! :techie-studyingbrown: :techie-studyingbrown:

The book looks like an investigation case movie, where Charlie the supervisor encounters a body while drilling an oil well. The way she decides to follow up and get the motive of what caused the murder and who did it makes it more interesting.
I love the book as it creates a realistic picture of what happened through the characters and descriptions portrayed.

It seems like book combines elements of the oil industry, mystery, and superstition to create a suspenseful narrative. I'm curious to know if the new investors will be able to overcome the mysterious obstacles and complete the drilling, or if the legend of the "Derrick of Death" will haunt them. The combination of industry, superstition, and mystery makes for a compelling story. If it's as engaging as it sounds, it should be a captivating read. Thank you

The strong female lead, Charlie, and the mix of murder mystery and technical insight into oil drilling create a unique blend. As a fan of engaging reads, I'm intrigued by the promise of a captivating story that offers more than just suspense. I'm definitely adding this to my reading list!

Thank you for a great review. Your mention of a red herring in the novel, as well as the expertly written mystery all convince me that I should read this book.
