Galen is new to this kingdom that is showing him a promising future of peace and prosperity after he escapes his own land of war and strife.
Lord Eldus seems like he is happy but underneath it all there seems to be sadness. A heaviness that he carries. It’s like he knows there is something coming, and he has to carry that burden alone. Like he knows that the peace is going to end and that is weight on his shoulders alone.
This book moved kind of slow, but I am glad that I moved through it. It was pleasantly surprising in the end. It left me wanting more. The magic in this book and experiencing this new land along with the characters was intriguing. And I always enjoy a book that has different POVs in it.
Books that have POVs from multiple people help you understand what is going on in the book from all sides of the story. This gives you a deeper understanding of the story and a deeper connection to all the characters. This helps you create relationships with all the characters except just one. This makes the book more meaningful.
That always gives a good understanding of the plot. Overall, I would recommend this book. It keeps you connected all the way through to the end. I did not see any grammar errors. I normally come across several grammar errors in books and that can really take away from a story for me. This book either had no grammar errors, or kept me so engrossed in the story line, that I did not notice them. Either way, that is a positive reaction to the story. I give this book all the stars available and recommend you read not just this book, but the whole series. I look forward to completing this series. It intrigues me.
