Thirty-three-year-old Winnow is trying to move on from her cheating ex. An invitation to forage and cook for a food festival in rural Minnesota seems to be a distraction she badly needs. There, she meets Niigaanii, a local and the kitchen manager of the Rainy Bay Community Center and Hotel, and Winnow finds herself desiring this man. Will the two succeed in finding love despite their troubled pasts?

I find it rare to come across thirty-something protagonists in a wholesome romance novel. With the characters secretly pining for and chasing after each other, it gives the feeling that one is in the realm of young adult romance. This is probably the aspect that I like the most about the book. I also enjoyed the hater-to-lovers trope in the beginning and how it naturally progressed to attraction and eventually to a deeper understanding of each other. Both the characters have negative past experiences that both of them are trying to recover from, and it's satisfying to see them get past all of that. The author's storytelling is brilliant. The lyrical descriptions enhance one's visualization of the story, taking you to see how the places look and smell. I also appreciate that this is a short book. The author managed to create a satisfying plot development without unnecessary fillers.

Overall, I find Native Love Jams by Tashia Hart wonderful and wholesome. It is a delight of a story. Winnow and Niigaanii are easily lovable characters. It doesn't require much to enjoy the story, so it can be read by anyone with an appetite for a sweet love story involving food, culture, and two thirty-something adults giving love another chance after going through heartbreaks. Since I don't have anything to dislike and I find the editing professionally done, I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

This sounds like the perfect read for me! Haters/Enemies to lovers is my favorite trope in romance novels! It's incomparable. The characters look interesting. I really enjoy reading about characters who have a troubled past. (Lol!) Additionally, this being a short book makes it a must-read! Thank you for this excellent review!
