Haunted is a good book but I don't think it's disturbing.

Lisa Jackson is a good author to check out. She is fiction, but writes some disturbing things. The book called The Morning After, is about women being buried alive. All her books have torture, and killing in them. They are pretty good. Sexual tension is what builds on her characters to do what they do.

How about My Sweet Audrina by V.C. Andrews. This book is full of mysteries and twists.

"Black House" by Peter Straub and Steven King is one of the more disturbing books I've read, which is saying something. I really like Peter Straub but I have a weak stomach for anything that involves children. I just don't want to think about it.

You might want to try "The Devil in the White City." It's a nonfiction book (creative nonfiction) that actually reads like a novel. It's about an extremely intelligent (and I guess those who are insanely twisted tend to be) serial killer who targets the 1893 World's Fair in Chicago. Excellent book, but unfortunately I couldn't read it all. It depressed me to think there are such sickos in the world. But I highly recommend it, in particular since this is the type of stuff you're wanting to read.

Honestly, my book will satisfy you! It will amaze you! But you can't read it until late summer when it's released. I'd so appreciate if you order it! Goodbye Natalie, Goodbye Splendour. Thanks, Author, Marti Rulli

A book that really disturbed me, but was an interesting read as well is "Neuropath" by Scott Baker.

The Room by Hubert Selby, Jr. is the most disturbing book I've ever read. I still have a hard time talking about it. At one point I threw the book on the floor and left the room in disgust.

Try The Diceman. The Dice Man is a semi-comedic novel published in 1971 by George Cockcroft under the pen name Luke Rhinehart .

Have a look at A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess.

I was going to recommend a disturbing book to the initial poster, but then I read this book's description and was disturbed by that. Nikolas, are you serious? Have you read your book's description? Wow. If you are really are 15, this pretty much makes sense. You need to get someone to help you with your descriptions. Best of luck, though. Oh, and for a really disturbing book, "The Girl Next Door."

I just read the first few pages of the recommend "disturbing" book "Raining Jane." Yes, it was disturbing all right. Mainly because it needed an editor, and the author seems to have gotten all his knowledge of explosions from first person shooters on the PS2.

My friend, I know you're just a teenager, but you really should have someone read your book before you decide to self publish it. And not a friend or family member, for that matter. You need some honest feedback, as I'm sure you have good ideas, but the execution is flawed. Keep it up, though, I'm sure someday you'll do something really interesting.

Dirty White Boys might interest you, I think it is by Stephen Hunter.
I second Black House by King/Straub but it is a sequel so you would want to read The Talisman first.
Pretty much anything by Chuck Palahniuk disturbs me.

If disturbing is what you're after, then take a look at Iris Chang's The Rape of Nanking. It chronicles the invasion of the Nanking region of China 50 years ago by the Japanese and the subsequent atrocities perpetrated on the Chinese population. It goes into graphic descriptive details about the desecration of the bodies as well as rape, torture and multilation of men, women and children.

The worst part is that these events are true and there are many pages of horrific pictures (decapitated heads etc) in the book. The Nanking Holocaust seems to be unknown to Westerners, but it is well known to those in Asia.

I just started this one- Let the right One In- i know that when you read the back it doesn't sound all that great, but it's not too shabby. For example i just finished a chapter about a killer draining someone of all thier blood then poured a jar of concentrated acid all over his face when soemone caught him doing it. It is very interesting and takes some cool turns. It was written by John Ajvide Lindovist, a Sweedish writer. The book has a huge cast of characters with the major division between adults and children, each subdivided into the successful, more or less, and the failures, with a further division into victims and victimizers. The book opens with a bullied child, Oskar, who fantasizes about becoming a mass murderer. He meets Elli, a child vampire. The predictable does not happen.
So you should take a peek at it if I were you.

well if you like sort of scifi fantasy books the blood jewls trilogy would be a good choice for you, the main character has been molested since she was like five at a "hospital" for disturbed girls, there are pleasure slaves, and all sorts of sexual escapades, plus it is a really really good and engaging read, it might not be as disturbing as you want but still worth a look.
