Review of Imminent Hour
Kevin Glenn's "Imminent Hour" is a fast-paced fiction crime thriller novel that tells the story of two young students who were involved in an unfortunate school shooting ('massacre' might actually be the better word to identify the horror they witnessed).
The story largely follows the everyday lives of George Griener, a final-year student at Devil's Lake High School (also a firefighter), and 17-year-old Tara Vaughn (now known as Kaylee Saunders). A gangrape consequently leads up to the unfortunate and bloody school massacre that takes place barely days after the rape.
One of the strengths of the book lies in the detailed description and illustrations utilized by the author in telling his story. Another strength of the book will be its captivating nature, which grips readers and keeps them hooked with the intent of finding out what happens next. The list of strengths the book has would not be complete if I didn't mention the flawless editing, as I noticed no significant grammatical errors that disrupted my reading experience.
As much as the book has its strengths, it also has its limitations and weaknesses. The first of such would be the tendency of the author to use the last name of characters without prior information that the specific name belonged to that particular character; this often leaves readers confused as to who is speaking or who has been spoken to. Another limitation of the book would be its ending, as I felt the readers deserved more closure on the fates of both the hospitalized shooters and Alison. The last weakness of the book will be the 'too-detailed' violent description of the bloodbath at the school; it makes the book unsuitable for younger readers and may even trigger some older readers.
Overall, I'd rate Kevin Glenn's "Imminent Hour" 4 out of 5 stars. I deducted one star because of the weaknesses I mentioned in the previous paragraph.
I'd recommend the book to adults who are fans of crime thrillers and would not be triggered by detailed graphic violence.

I could not help but notice that you copied this comment verbatim from the first contributor. Is that allowed here or it's a mistake. Whatever the case, I just thought to call your attention to it, as I believe it isn't nice. Thanks.Francis Ahero wrote: ↑15 Oct 2023, 01:43 This is an interesting take you have here. I’ll say this is a violent crime book. There’s something I don’t understand at the beginning. Who got raped? I guess I’ll find my answers in the book. Well done!
