"By Accident" by Joanne Greene is the author's memoir in which she talks mostly about her self-discovery and recovery. While crossing the street, Joanne was hit by a truck. After she recovered, Joanne learned that she was suffering from colon cancer.

Joanne Greene's memoir, "By Accident: a memoir of letting go," is a touching and inspiring account of her journey through trauma, illness, and resilience. The book chronicles her recovery and self-discovery following a traumatic accident, a cancer diagnosis, and the profound loss of her nuclear family. Congrats on BOTD.

Sophia Damilola Ajayi, I thank you for your review of By Accident by Joanne Greene.

I understand from your review that the book contains the author's story of a life changing tragic accident which ironically had the effect of making her realize that she did not need to have control over everything to enjoy life. I find this subject matter to be intriguing.

You also point out that the story covers the themes of survival, self-discovery and the importance of taking care of yourself. The book is well edited and your gave it 5 out of 5 stars. This book has my attention!

Life is a story of struggle and this book is its best example. The beauty of life is to fall and stand up again. The book seems very good and your review seems to be doing justice to the book. Thank you...

Unlike you Sophia, I thought from the title by accident that Joanne encountered something miraculously. An event that made her a fortune. However, this is kind of true in that by having to go through hardships, she emerges enlightened.

Joanne was struck by a truck and broke her pelvis in four places. Before the accident, she was used to doing everything for herself, but afterwards, she had to learn to rely on others and let go.

Going through the hardest is something I am familiar with, but the novel which revolves around the theme of hard period of her life makes her strong, practically in our lives too.

By Accident is a beautifully written tale that illustrates the seductive nature of control and the strength that can be found in relinquishing it. Joanne Greene's journey of self-discovery serves as a powerful reminder of the beauty and potential that lie within our moments of fragility. The book inspires readers to reflect on their own paths and the possibility of finding firm footing by embracing life's uncertainties.
