Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventures, by Catherine A. Pepe, is a book that tells the adventures of Donny and Mary Grace, who are siblings. Due to their parents' work, they had to move from Kansas to California to live with their grandparents for two years.

Donny is a happy child, full of joy, which he shares with everyone around him. Mary Grace is a very intelligent girl who loves her family, likes adventures, and likes solving complicated cases.

This book is very easy to read. It presents the situations in an order that does not allow any confusion, and is clear and precise. It was very fun for me to read it because I could imagine all the events described. In addition, it promotes tolerance and highlights the importance of respect.

Overall, I loved the entire book. However, if I had to choose a favorite part, I would choose the scenes where you can see the great connection between Mary Grace and Krugie. It is impressive how some people can be so sensitive and understanding, so much so that they can deeply understand the pure feelings of a little animal.

This book is very well edited; I did not catch any errors. It provides very good teaching regarding respect and tolerance, encourages not remaining silent in difficult situations. It invites people to seek support from trusted people to solve problems.

I can't mention any negative aspects. I can only say that it seems to me that the story made a sudden change since a character that came out of nowhere turned out to be the antagonist. This seemed confusing to me.

I recommend this book to a children's audience, starting at 6 years old. I think that is the ideal age because they associate concepts more appropriately. Likewise, everyone should read it since it has very valuable messages. For all these reasons, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. It is an entertaining and fun book that can be enjoyed by the whole family.

I love your use of simple language in this review.
For a children's book, this sounds really interesting to me. I like books that teach something. This one gives away valuable lessons.
I love to see animals in books. I love children and animals, so it's obvious why I like to find them in books too.
I appreciate that this book has no errors. It highlights the amazing work of the editor.
I have this book on my Kindle, and I hope to read it soon because of your great review!
Thank you for this wonderful review!
Have an amazing day!

This book has been on my list to read for a very long time and seems to be a firm favorite of everyone's. It looks like you enjoyed it so much. But is it designed to be a children's book? Would I still enjoy it as an adult?

Bettny, this sounds like a great children's book. While my daughter is grown, I could see the benefits of having my grandbabies read this! I think these kind of stories are great to teach children positive values like tolerance and respect. I think it also helps kids feel empathy and learn good social behaviors. I especially enjoyed the point you identified about seeking support from trusted people to solve problems - I imagine even adults could learn a thing or two from this! Until next time...

I have read and reviewed this one. I loved it too. Children's books have never disappointed me. There is innocence, a message, and a bit of the little n big things are all covered in simple language.
I liked how the author subtly pull our attention towards the background of the bully child. Hence, this is also a good book for parents and educators.
I loved reading your smooth and easy flowing language in the review.

I love book that are easier to read. But this one doesn't look like the one I will enjoy. Excellent review. I enjoyed reading it.

Living with one's grandparents is so beneficial. Grandparents are able to make more time for kids than the busy parents. This arrangemnet can serve as a safety net for some children. This sounds like a delightful book. Thank you for this review.
