It sounds like a really fascinating book with much research on the ancient world and its secrets by the author.
This tale is the ideal recipe for an enjoyable read since it involves cracking the case of a mystery and discovering a holy location akin to the Garden of Eden.
Excellent review that is well-written and truthful.

Mysteries involving secrets known by one person and those who don’t want the secret revealed can be fast-paced and thrilling. Lost Secret of the Ancient Ones by Chris Reynolds is the first book in the series The Manna Chronicles and is one of the interesting books that can keep the reader enthralled. The story involves parallel universes, history, travel, ancient secrets and the characters are finding clues all throughout the book. Thank you for the wonderful review of this exciting first book in the series.
If you're going through hell, keep going.

Thanks for the informative review. I don't think I'd like the alternative dimensions nor the drug use. I'm probably the usual mystery type of gal. I'm sure there will be many that will enjoy it though.

Dan Brown's works are my favorite. It is interesting to see a book like that with complex plots. This one is definitely an amazing one.

“Lost Secret of the Ancient Ones” by Chris Reynolds is the book #1 in the Manna Chronicles. The main character is Maya Harrington who is looking for her missing father. Her father Alex is a renowned physicist who has uncovered a secret that has now put his life in danger. He has sent clues to Maya to help her find him. Maya is hired by a man that wants to find the Garden of Eden. This novel explores the idea of mind travel and it includes religion, science and history like a Dan Brown mystery. This is a well-written book but the taking of hallucinatory drugs to travel to alternate dimensions and out of body experiences limits the reading audience to adults and stretches the credibility of the story. It is an action-packed book that received a 3-star rating. Very good review.

As someone who has a deep passion for ancient Egypt, you had me the moment you mentioned it. I love the incorporation of science and religion in one book, it always ends up in creating a new understanding of the world for the reader. This is one book I will be reading very soon.

I would love to read of Maya's adventures as she attempts to search for her dad and comes across different ancient secrets. It is a good book that seems interesting with intertwining religion and science and I'm interested to read it.

I do not enjoy novels which infuse several intertextual elements for the sake of increasing the plot size, instead of prioritising literary flow. Thanks for the thorough review.

An informative and honest review. What a pity the book was not profesionally edited! The plot seems interesting, reminding us of Dan Brown...
