It has just been a mere 18 months since the 50-year nuclear war ended in a devastating fire. A marine raider named D (yes, just D) is required to reach the Three Mile Island at any cost. But to do so, he must cross a treacherous and sunless nuclear wasteland infested with mutant predators. D teams up with his on-off lover Cella, and a tech expert, Zach, for this dangerous mission. What follows is an action-packed story of betrayal and survival.

Vladimir Fleurisma’s Ultimatum is set in a post-apocalyptic world where the survival of humanity is in question as a new predator emerges because of the nuclear disaster and is trying to gain control of the earth. The author did an extraordinary job of presenting a vivid and believable post-apocalyptic world in the book. This book contains rich and detailed world-building elements that help readers imagine situations and places with ease. The sense of suspense and foreboding never dwindles, keeping the readers hooked throughout the book.

There is nothing I dislike about this book. This well-paced narrative is flawless in editing and free of errors. Another remarkable feature is the character development. All characters are well thought-out and unique in their traits. The understanding and chemistry between the main protagonist, D, and his adventure-mates are amazing and well-portrayed through authentic dialogue. Their reactions and motivations are genuine and believable. The author seamlessly blends elements of science fiction, thrillers, and dystopian worlds to create a tale that amazes readers of all ages. I will rate this book 5 out of 5 for its suspense-filled narrative, intriguing dialogues, well-developed characters, and vivid world-building.

I would recommend this quick and enjoyable read to lovers of science fiction and dystopian fantasy. This book is for you if you are looking for a story full of action, suspense, and believable characters.
