Charlie's Diner by Dennis F. Killeen blew me away! Unexpected twists, compelling character development, and a gripping narrative keep you on edge. Ann's resilience and Molly's dedication made it a thrilling read. I can't get over the rollercoaster of events.

Charlie Winters suffered the loss of the daughter and wife. He extended hands of favour to a family he met someday which reminded him of his family. Things didn't turn out well eventually as he was stabbed to death. Please it's a lesson for us not to take advantage of a woman's vulnerability especially if she has a husband. Congrats on the botd and a well-written review.

It's never easy to lose family in this way. Regardless of what someone may say about rising over a depressive episode.

This sounds rather intriguing and something I would read, as I like murder mysteries books. The characters seems very realistic to the 21st century, where Paul has his priorities all mixed up, Ann that will do anything to get money to pay bills and Charlie seeing opportunity to get sexual favors, for money. I'm curious to see if Ann's past will catch up with her. This is one excellent review, well done!!

:techie-studyingbrown: This is a really nice review. From the sample, I can say that I was quite surprised. Contrary to the simple title, the book hosts many twists and turns. Already going to add this book to my bookshelves. Not to mention that the the characters are morally gray which only adds more excitement to the novel.

This sounds like such an interesting read. I'd love to see what happened to Ann once she fled to Nebraska, did she get caught for stabbing her husband? There are just so many questions in my mind and I'm pretty sure I'm going to read this one to find those answers. You've written such an exceptional review.

It seems like there are a lot of moving parts in this story that extend outside Charlie's story. I wonder what Ann is going to do now that she's on the run and looking for a new start in life. I'm going to buy the book to follow this journey and see where it goes. Congrats to the author for having the BOTD.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting thriller mystery following Charlie, who gifts a family money in order to pay for bills, but the husband uses the money for his own pleasures. The wife returns to Charlie and in exchange for some sexual gratification is given some money. The husband angered at the wife and Charlie, kills Charlie but is then killed by the wife who flees with her children out of state. Now the police are trying to piece together what happened. It might be worth a second look. Well done.

Charlie sounds like a good, caring man who achieved success in his business but suffered great personal loss when both his wife and daughter died. Unfortunately that image is tarnished when he starts trading sexual favours in return for money, from a married woman. From the title, I expected Charlie to be the main character, but he gets killed and the story continues with Ann, the married woman, and others. Thank you for the great review.

Thank you for the informative and positive review of "Charlie's Diner" by Dennis F Killeen. The story sounds a bit off because of the request that Charlie put to Ann. This story is quite sad and if the investigation follows Anne they may find that she killed in self-defense or they may find that she is culpable. When or if Molly Raintree follows Anne and her children to Nebraska we will all find out how this thrilling mystery turns out.
If you're going through hell, keep going.

I never expected it to end that way when I started reading the review. I should say life was so much cruel to Charlie, losing his dear family in a shortest period, and generously helping out Paul's family cost him his life too. It's so sad for Charlie. Am just curious to know of how far the police go with the investigations and how Ann's future unfolds.
