One of my favorite things about BOTD is that I find myself sampling books I might not otherwise have ever picked up, and learning new things as a result. I never had any idea that there were other books that survived over the ages, and judging from your review, this text, had it been included, would completely change the Bible and how it is understood.

I am not sure I would enjoy reading this book especially when it seems different to the narrative I have of the bible. Congratulations to the author on book of the day.

Thank you for summarizing the review of "The Incarnation: Cleopatra's Story of Jesus" by Arthur Telling. The alternate take on the historical events surrounding Christianity and the solid references make it an intriguing read for those with an open mind. The exploration of Paul's journeys and the historical and cultural contexts adds depth to the narrative.

I enjoyed reading this review because of its considered approach. I've latched on to the points about how Western scholars have collectively ignored Telling's radical alternative and its unorthodoxy potentially offending some people. He has nothing to lose on those points because of his research, the fiction notwithstanding.

Arthur Telling has created a complex and intricate world that is both familiar and yet utterly alien. The characters are richly drawn and the plot is full of twists and turns. The story will make you think about the nature of reality and the boundaries of the imagination. The writing is engaging and the world building is impressive. My only criticism would be that some of the plot twists can be a little hard to follow, but that's part of the fun of this type of story. :D

What an insightful review. I am more of a traditional Christian, but the accounts mentioned include references that have sparked my interest in this book. Still a bit skeptical. Thank you for the review.

It is a good historical book who enjoy history will enjoy it as for the part it really gave another theory for the Jesus life everyone may not accept it. As a non christian history stories were interesting to me but context of Jesus were really new to me so it was like a spiritual story.

This book brings to light information that I do not know if it's true or not. The story of Mary Magdalene and the book of Thomas are quite surprising to learn about.

Religion is indeed a controversial subject and any alternative view is highly criticized. I would love to read the other perspective to widen my horizon.

Your acknowledgment of the book's positives, including solid references, well-structured chapters, and detailed historical context, enhances its credibility. The focus on Paul's journeys and letters, along with vivid descriptions, promises a rich reading experience. The heartwarming message about the Kingdom of God adds depth.

This book had a lot going on looking at Cleopatra's need to protect and keep her family in power, the fighting between regions and within royal families, the allies and the enemies all fighting for power and of course leading to wars, it brings up more of the story where Mary Magdalene is seen it be connected to the Cleopatra's lineage till the birth of christianity, seeing Jesus and his relationship with Mary, his journey to different places with his disciples and more the author brings up Paul and his journey as a missionary, to the time of his arrest by the Roman soldiers. The book " The Incarnation by Arthur Telling" gives a broad description of religious, political and cultural background of time and the connection of human with God through our inner selves. I loved this book and would recommend it to all those that love historical events.

Your overview of "The Incarnation" by Arthur Telling, exploring historical events with an unorthodox twist, has piqued my interest. The mix of ancient Egypt, reincarnation, and a unique perspective on Jesus and Mary Magdalene intrigues me.

Your caution about potential far-fetched elements in the narrative adds honesty to your review. The revelation of a different story of Jesus and the connection between Mary Magdalene, Julius Caesar, and Cleopatra sparks curiosity. I appreciate your discretion to avoid spoilers.
