I wonder how Mr. Picot knows so much about this world. Has he done a lot of research or is he somehow involved with this world? Congratulations on BOTD!

It's interesting how the author weaves together the professional and personal lives of Marker and the other hotel employees. The love triangle between Marker, Sandrine Parte, and George Brooks adds an element of suspense and intrigue to the story.

"The Hotel Detective and his Lover" by Derek Picot. An interesting book, talks about the Chief Security Officer Richard Marker, who is infatuated with the French Public Relations Officer Sandrine. The question now is will Richard win Sandrine's heart, despite the fact that Sandrine is having an affair with George Brooks. This book elaborates characters and gives insight to the reader. Congrats on your #BOTD.

The book feels a bit hurried, leaving out certain details and prompting readers to fill in the gaps, which, unfortunately, diminishes the formation of vivid mental images.

This is the type of story that I would enjoy reading each night over a week: A detective at the famous Adelphi Hotel in London. The story is filled with romance, murder, mystery, and the unexpected.

The only book I ever read related to this topic was Hotel, a novel written by Arthur Hailey and, while I know that, like any fiction, it wasn't strictly accurate in a professional sense, I loved it because it was an excellent story. So I am willing to give this book a chance and hope not to be disappointed.

The name itself sounds very mysterious and intriguing. I'm curious to know if Sandrine Parte will end her affair with George Brooks and get together with Richart Marker, what this cavalcade of clandestine meetings are about, who has got illegitimate children, what kind of cover-up stories are there, who betrayed whom and how these illicit payments came about?!! Thank you for a very helpful review.

Initially, I thought this was a love triangle until I read that it's a riveting thriller with countless twists and turns and also a surprising ending. What more does a thriller fanatic want???
You mentioned that each of the 16 chapters is subdivided into cinematic scenes, and since I've never read anything like that, this review was convincing to me. Good job!

The book examines 1960s society. Because of the variety of people who interact within its premises, the hotel appears to be a suitable environment for observing the dynamics of society.

Firstly, congratulations on winning Book of the Day! Secondly, while I do love a good mystery novel, I do not appreciate the fact that it contains profane words, hot scenes, and graphic violence so I might not be reading it.

HONEST REVIEW, it really offers an interesting perspective upon the novel. However, it cannot tempt me to read it, since it has so many errors.

This in-depth examination of Derek Picot's "The Hotel Detective and His Lover" provides a complete critique. The novel's convoluted narrative, colorful characters, and the author's expertise in describing the ambiance of the Adelphi Hotel are all effectively captured by the reviewer. The book's plaudits for its action, suspense, and unexpected twists lends credence to the thriller genre. The reviewer's inclusion of the author's sense of humor as a positive quality offers a nuanced perspective. The constructive feedback on proofreading and editing flaws displays a balanced evaluation, which improves the review's overall credibility. This comprehensive critique will be useful to future readers interested in thrillers and murder mysteries.

I love dry humor in authors. Definitely sounds like it would be an interesting read!
