Review of Searching for Zen
In Searching for Zen: A Tale Of Divine Destiny by Albert T. Franklin, readers are guided to a world of wonder and adventure where anything is possible. You'll be transported to lands of mystery and intrigue. It follows the adventures of Zen as he prepares for his final test as the Zendarian.
God decided to choose a champion to help humanity, a Zendarian. He gave one of his angels the charge to look for a child with a good heart who would become the next Zendarian. The angel found a young boy who had been raised by his mother since his father died in battle. One day, the angel visited the boy in the forest and made himself known as the Guide. He informed the boy that he was the next Zendarian and told him about his powers. He could stop time, control matter, and get people's memories, skills, and wisdom by touching them. In addition, the Guide informed him that he would embark on a mission to locate a group of people and artifacts while getting ready for the final test. With his group, he embarked on an exciting adventure.
Adventure, action, and fantasy are just some of the things this book promises. In this book, we see dwarves, mages, wizards, and different creatures. One of the things I liked was the world-building; it was really stunning. The world the author created was vivid, realistic, and rich. Everything was skillfully created. It made me feel like I had traveled to another world. The addition of romance was another aspect I admired. It added spice and warmth to the book. This book illustrates how people perceive things that they do not comprehend. We could see that by how some people reacted to Zen and his powers. Even if you have the best intentions, people will perceive you differently if you do something frightening.
Although this book was brimming with positive aspects, it also had some negative aspects. One of them was the back and forth between the use of present and past tense. I didn't know if it was the author's writing style, but it confused me and slowed down my reading pace. Also, the book had errors.
Seeing that this book contained too many errors and was not professionally edited, I will reduce the rating. So, I rate Searching For Zen: A Tale Of Divine Destiny 4 out of 5 stars. It was a wonderful book, and I am sure that fantasy fiction readers would definitely enjoy it.
