By age 18, Emily had been raped and molested. She had entertained the idea of ending it all by slashing her arms. At 26, she opened spiritual doors, practiced witchcraft, and used ouija boards. It is safe to say she was going through hell. In desperate need of redemption, she cries for help. In The Conscious Christian, Peaceful Waters seeks to be the light that draws others from their darkest places and moments.

There are so many positive aspects to this book. The errors and grammar blunders were few. The review was professionally edited. There are messages and advice she pours into this book. Before God, there were a lot of impossibilities and brokenness in her life. After inviting God in, she is aware, alert, active, and mindfully free. She is free, but she is consciously exercising her freedom. She strives to be a conscious Christian who keeps out the evil seeds from her garden while watering the good seeds.

Her stories reflect God's love, mercy, and immeasurable grace. He saves and will always save, regardless of who we are or where we come from. Emily's writing is a beacon for people blinded by societal constructs of what Christianity entails. Emily's message transcends religion and focuses on love—the love of God. Her message also focuses on healing, faith, and acceptance. The story she told of having a friend who was a pagan Sea Witch and the interview she had with a Crone.

There are negative aspects to this book as well. I think to better appreciate this book, the first book she wrote should be read. According to the author, it captures in more detail her life story. Snippets were randomly told in this book. This interfered with my reading to an extent. I was more than halfway into the book before she wrote in detail about how she got her little girl and her son. More so, the random snippets were not told chronologically. This interfered with my reading to an extent. I was more than halfway into the book before she wrote in detail about how she got her little girl and her son. I would love to have a clearer picture of how her life was up until this point.

I rate this book a perfect rating of 5 out of 5 stars. Despite the flaws I noticed above, the beauty and passion for Christ she translates on paper in a few pages outweigh the flaws. I recommend this book to anyone struggling with addiction, abuse, or going through dark phases. This book will show them that God's love is enough.
