Personally I don't pay attention to the gender of the author. I have read some great romance novels written by both males and females. I think for me the most important thing is the style of writing and that can be good or bad with anyone.

Personally I really don't mind if it is written by a male or female. I mean I won't deny I would be intrigued to read a romance novel written by a male but it's not really a big deal breaker for me.

I am a big romance novel enthusiast, I'll look at the cover and read the blurb and if it catches me in I'll most likely read it. Anyone can be an amazing writer make or female :)

I don't think gender matters much. If I find that the synopsis shows an interesting plot and you can flesh it out into a great story then that's what's most important. Plus, to people like me, knowing that the author is male is something that catches my interest as well and would have me picking up a bit to find out more.

Honestly, I don't care whether the book is written by female or male author. The only concern for me is that the book should be interesting.

That is not something that counts in my books. I don't care at all. I don't even bother checking.

A good writer is a good writer, male or female. I have no preference.

A good writer could be male for female. It is good to get female writer's perspective of romance and compare the male version of romance. There lies your answer, some female readers tend to feel men are not romantic enough though.

I don't care if a book I want to read was written by a man or woman. It doesn't matter much to me.

When looking for a novel based on romance, I don't care if the author is a man or woman, I read from either genders.

As I've written in another post, the title largely determines whether I read a book or not. Who wrote it or which gender the writer belongs to is of little concern to me.

I don’t put that much thought into it, and when a books well written it’s well written. That said there definitely have been a couple books where I could tell it was written by a man so maybe there’s something to that.
