Review of We are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies
Meldorath used his magic to arrest Lord Orlin because of assaulting children. He takes over as the new Lord of Hillport but shortly gets arrested for brutal acts towards people.
The Emperor of Lullabies feared that one day his sons would kill him for the throne, so he gave each of them a piece of land. At first, the sons were contented, but after a while, they started fighting with each other for ownership of all the lands. This resulted in a never-ending war. Galen Bray escaped from this war-torn community to Magnum Caelum, where his uncle owned a forge. Galen Bray, the sole heir to his uncle's properties, meets his uncle's executor, and together, they embark on a journey to find special tools that will make him an extraordinary blacksmith.
Eldus took over as the new Lord of Hillport. Unfortunately, Hillport is threatened by a terrorist group called Riva Rohavi. In addition, strange things constantly occur in the castle that make people suspect Meldorath is behind the torments.
We Are Voulhire: A New Arrival under Great Skies is not a stand-alone book; it's more of an introduction to a series with several books. The author's writing style was simple, and the story flowed smoothly. I liked how Matthew Tysz described the war scenes. They were so vivid that it made me feel like I was watching the scenes. The character that was relatable to me the most was Beth. She is portrayed as a sweet, young, naive girl, and I can't wait to see how her character unfolds in the second book. My favorite quote from the book is, "See the good in everything, and the best of it will find you." I liked the ending; it was so unpredictable and suspenseful that it left me wanting to read more.
The twists and turns made me hooked up to this book throughout. Fortunately, I didn't find anything to dislike in this book. My experience was so good that I can't wait to read the second book.
I only found one spelling error in the book. The minor mistake is not enough for me to deduct a point. I still think the book was well-edited. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because it was a masterpiece.
I recommend this book to people who love fantasy stories. They will surely fall in love with this tale full of mysteries. However, I don't recommend it to sensitive and young people because of the brutal war scenes.
