An interesting look into a veteran trying to settle back into life in America after being a prisoner of war in Vietnam for three years. The opening chapters create a level of empathy and interest for Kelly. The author's style works for me.

I agree that the storyline gets one hooked from the very first page. The rescue of Kelly creates a good mystery, drawing one in to learn more about his life and complete the entire novel.

:D I am most excited on reading the review. I find it special that Kelly found the strength and power to reestablish his life after going through so much. War is never ending sorrow and destructive; it is so nice that Kelly found love again. He was saved in many ways.

Based on a preview, this appears to be a captivating historical fiction romance book centered around Kelly's aspirations of relocating to California and marrying his beloved Rita. However, his ambitions take an unexpected turn as he joins the military and vanishes during a mission. Upon his eventual return after several years, he is plagued by mental anguish and undergoes significant changes in personality. Will his love for Rita be able to restore him to his former self? This novel seems deserving of further examination due to its commendable execution.

Sometimes, heroes face grater battles than just war. This is an example of a soldier who lost love and gets back up again. Life always has something to give if we are ready. Congrats on BOTD.

This romantic novel addresses the topic of military life and the horrors of war. Also, it teaches lessons about how to find love despite having lived through traumatic experiences.

Your review of 'Saving KC' by Grinnell Desjarlais is as compelling as it is insightful. It's fascinating how you've highlighted the intricate portrayal of a soldier's life and its aftermath. The way you described the book's exploration of trauma and recovery, intertwined with cultural insights and the undying hope for love, makes it sound like a must-read. Also, your point about the timeline being a bit confusing is an interesting observation that I hadn't considered before.

This novel shows that we should give our self a second chance to live again. Having a second chance in life means having another opportunity to achieve your goals and dreams. It also means having a chance to right the wrongs you may have committed in the past. It means being given a second chance to show the world what you're really capable of and KC was able to show it to all the readers out there. It's a book of heart and I really love this review.

Surviving the gruesome horrors of captivity as a soldier comes with implications and traumatic baggage, disrupting the present and future. Kelly is a brave soldier, but captivity took its toll on him. Will he overcome his trauma and find love again? An emotional read.

Love can heal. This book seems to be very emotional. Traumatized soldier finding love again sounds like a unique premise. Thank you for the thoughtful recommendation. War-themed books or romance aren't my favourite read. Surely the book will find its readers. Great review!

Many soldiers struggle with PTSD. The Vietnam War was especially brutal, and many of the returning soldiers were thrown to the side due to people protesting the United States involvement in the war. Finding love was probably difficult after facing the deaths as well as his own imprisonment.

I cannot imagine enduring KC's war experiences. On top of that, instead of a heartwarming welcome home, his life has turned upside down. The gripping opening scenes of the sample truly caught my attention. I look forward to witnessing how KC perseveres through the aftermath. Terrific book review!

'Official Review: Saving KC' by Grinnell Desjarlais serves as a good foundation for the romantic fiction story for readers. It delivers the essential information related to the book for historical fiction readers. The point that the book is a phenomenal novel that details the life of a resilient man named Kelly is worth mentioning in the review. Readers would enjoy how the author takes them to Kelly's childhood. Also, as mentioned in the review, the book highlights the untold war experiences of soldiers and how they are left traumatized and scarred for life by the horrors they face at war. It was great to learn from the book that we shouldn't give up on finding love, and the best things in life come when we're not even looking!
