Review of From Bliss to This
Why do humans need love? What can be more hurtful than staying in the wrong marriage? Can you live with a manipulative spouse? What will you do when your whole life is at a breaking point? Should you trust your spouse with your yearlong investments or keep them in your name forever? What is the purpose of marriage? The book will provide thorough answers to these emotional questions.
From Bliss to This by Lauraina Bashir is what I call the live episode of the author. Bashir is a woman who has survived two marriages. She became single and did great in her work and personal life. As her life became free from the stress of marital and other relationships, one day, at her usual coffee shop, Mohammed approached her, a twenty-three-year-old Pakistani. He was born in the United Kingdom. He started chatting and bringing flowers for her to the coffee shop. Eventually, he asked her out, and they began a relationship.
Things went well, and soon they contracted a marriage. She fondly calls him Mo. Mo took his wife on a trip to meet his family in Pakistan. The trip was fun, and the stay with the family was soothing for the new couple. Bashir is already happy in the marriage until Mo tells her that his people insist he should produce children, which she cannot give him because of her situation. He tells her he will marry Adiva, his deceased uncle's daughter. The whole marriage scenario became unbearable for Bashir. To top it off, she discovers that his marriage to Adiva secretly happened in 2004, some years into their marriage. Can she bear all the burden alone? Did she cope with these sudden outcomes? Was she able to cope with the difficult circumstances, or did they break her? Readers will find answers to these questions on the pages of the book.
I like the strength of Bashir. At first, I thought that love was taking reasoning away from her, but I was happy that she allowed reasoning to lead her. The information in the book is its positive aspect. The book was both educational and informative. The writing style was comprehensible to the readers.
I do not dislike the book. There are no negative aspects to the book. The editing is flawless. There are lots of life lessons to learn from the book. I rate the book From Bliss to This by Lauraina Bashir 5 out of 5 stars. The reasons for my rating are above. I recommend the book to ladies, both young and old. Mothers will find the book helpful. Men who want to have a happy home will find the book helpful.

Mohammed enters her life at an unexpected turn as she carries on her life taking care of an in house patient . She meets him but gravitated towards him a while later. He was rather persistent and optimistic and also only twenty two years old. She was too old for him but that did not stop him from professing his love for her.
When she meets his family shortly after marriage it all changes. The culture shock and the man himself turn into surprises she wasn't expecting. Bashir could not give birth and now because of that she was threatened to be replaced by his uncle's daughter. This was unbearable. The book unfolds with more surprises and more losses for Bashir. It was hurtful to imagine but a woman finds a way to stand after every single storm.
The emotional intelligence and patience in Lauriana is impeccable and her consistency in remembering who she is was great. We see her triumph through the storm and come out unscathed.
The book was well written and editing skills were great too. A very empowering and informative book and I was able to make a decision as to I am not ready for marriage. The red flags were helpful and 5 out of 5 rating from me. It was truly impressive.
