The review has sparked my curiosity about Pud's life journey and whether he achieves his desires. Further, animal sounds and vibrant illustrations make it a perfect adventure for my son to explore.

Great review, Emily! I read this book, and, like you, I enjoyed it. I smiled at your mention that telling Pud's story in the first person gave you insights into how cats see things. I wish it were Pud's story but it is the Pud's human owner who narrated it, so the insights are probably into what Pud's human thinks Pud thinks :). I would also upgrade your rating to all stars because I did not notice a loose end about the magpie.

"Pud- The WANNABE Cat" by Brian Murphy is a story in which the main character is Pud. Pud is a cat who lives with his family, which includes Ben, Sue, and their son Theo. Pud wants more than just being a house cat, he also wants to be a better swimmer.

First of all i like the fact that the cat has been personified, the kind of impression we feel in the story is kind of amazing and entertaining but I think the book could´ve better with some negative aspect, let the world not always be that pink.
That is what i wanted to say and i really liked the book

This was so sweet, especially after knowing that it's based on a true story. One can tell how much the owners love their cat. The mere fact that the author tells the story from the cat's point of view is a manifestation of this. What I also like about this book are the lessons behind the story, mainly highlighting the fact that one desires to be so many things, but what brings the most contentment is to always just be oneself!

A book about Pud, a cat who becomes lost and longs to be a cat outside the house. I enjoyed how the author told the narrative from Pud's point of view and how the vibrant pictures kept the story engaging for young readers. Congrats on BOTD.

I love children's picture books so I'm mighty happy the author gave the book away. I enjoyed reading about Pud and his misadventure. I also like that the author got his inspiration from their own family cat.

The title itself catches attention as you can't bypass the book minus asking why the cat focuses on an upgrade. Big up for the great review.

Pud - The WANNABE Cat by Brian Murphy presents an engaging story that follows Pud's adventures and aspirations. The plot raises questions about courage, intelligence, and the desire for more in life.

That was very well well organised way to let leave a review . Readers would be able to interpret it easily.

Pud's journey of self-discovery and transformation is inspiring and entertaining. The author's use of a cat as the main character is original and engaging, and the story's themes of courage, adventure, and determination are sure to resonate with readers. The novel is well-written and evocative, bringing the world of Pud and his family to life in a compelling way.

Nice review! I have to say, I love the idea of a 'wannabe cat.' Usually, cats are described as independent and uninterested in their humans (or at least uninspired), but Pud's story shows cats' much more sympathetic viewpoint.

Your point about the incomplete bird storyline resonated with me too. It would have been interesting to see how that subplot played out. Nevertheless, the book's well-edited text is a definite plus. I'm glad you enjoyed it overall, and your thoughtful review has piqued my interest. I might pick this up for my niece, who falls right into the recommended age group. Thanks for sharing your insights!
