Wow, this story really delves into the complexities of Chief Gravnick's life and the challenges he faces. It's intriguing to see how his personal and professional worlds collide, adding an extra layer of depth to the narrative. I can't help but wonder how he'll navigate the delicate balance between his feelings and his duty to solve the case. It's a thought-provoking exploration of the human experience and the choices we make in the face of adversity.

A moral dilemma is always created by the temptation to fall in love with the main suspect! And from your wonderful depiction of her, the mother sounds like a quick-witted character, for sure. It seems like you should give this one a look. Congrats on BOTD.

Chief of Police Ernie ends up in murky waters trying to find the culprit behind the gruesome murders of a couple. He also ends up romantically involved with a suspect. The characters are well-developed and feel real. This seems like a page-turning mystery novel.

The plot is very intriguing. I wonder what he has to deal with that could be life-threatening for him. I love documentaries and this one seems like it could be interesting.

The book sounds really fascinating with lots of plot twists and turns. There is a murder case that is quite complicated and that nearly cost Ernie Gravnick his life. I hope he manages to solve this case successfully. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

Gravnick sounds like an awesome read and my kind of book. I wonder who the culprit is; hopefully Ernie is able to catch them and not at his expense. I'll definitely check it out.

Ernie's intent to play a game of deceit with the suspected culprit might not go well for him as it always turns out in situations like this. But I'm curious about the whole plot and why their 13-year old son was suspected as the culprit. Anyway, congratulations on BOTD!!

I am very intrigued and interested in the story, which is a kind of unavoidable result with the description review presented. The crime and suspected culprit, obstacles intentionally put on Ernie Gravnick's path to prevent him resolving it is only attracting more attention! Congratulations with BOTD!

Nice review! I have to say, I love the idea of a 'wannabe cat.' Usually, cats are described as independent and uninterested in their humans (or at least uninspired), but Pud's story shows cats' much more sympathetic viewpoint.

Knowing that there were endearing characters in a murder mystery would entice a non mystery fan like me to pick this up. Nice review!

This thrilling novel packs mystery, action and murder in one. I am curious if Chief Ernie would actually solve this case and if the woman likes is actually involved somehow.
As long as there is a concept of victors, the vanquished will always exist.

I love how the author sucks you into the story in the first handful of pages. Only the best cops-and-robbers books get off to a start like this, making it hard to put down the novel. Congrats to Mr. Herpe!!!
