Latest Review: "My Gay Dream" by Alex Ikke-Tuppel

If ever a man could write books that make the female heart beat, beat, beat: it's Nicholas Sparks. Mainstream, modern, and even sometimes full of sappy sweetness, his books are a guilty pleasure that warm the heart with sustainable romance. The Notebook seems to have became a modern staple of feminine romance and well worth the initial read, even maybe a re-do or two after. The characters are well written and realistic, and the love conveyed in nearly all of his stories is one of deep, heartfelt dedication and wholesomeness that could almost be hard to sell, if not his ingenuity with plot and timing. Even better than his books as solitary entities is the fact that he's so widely recognized that his stories more often than not get brought to life on the silver screen. While the movies based on his books always seem to lack the quality, depth and integrity if his written works, they serve as a delightful companion to his tales of the triumphs of love.

I empathize with critics that his stories are often predictable and portray striking similarities between his works, however, you can spin the tale of Romeo and Juliet a thousand times, and a thousand ways till Sunday, but it works, it sells, and sometimes a good old fashioned tear jerking love story is just what the doctor ordered.

I love this man's books. I recommend The Wedding (sequel to The Notebook), A Walk to Remember, and Nights in Rodanthe.

I heard about Nicholas Sparks because of the notebook the movie. One of my favorite movie is A Walk to Remember, and after watching it a million times I find out its a book, same with The Lucky One saw the movie before reading the book. The only Nicholas Sparks book I have read is The Lucky One and I loved it. I have heard that his books are cheesy, so far I only own 3 of his books but I'm pretty sure I'm getting more soon.

I have read many Nicholas Sparks books- he is a fantastic writer. He really knows how to draw his readers in and touch the emotional heart-strings. I remember being so emotionally upset by one of his books (I believe it was "The Guardian") that I threw it across the room and started crying! I was so mad at my sister for recommending the book because it upset me so much. Since then, I have read many more of his books because of his ability to connect with the reader's emotions so well. Even when he takes you on an emotional roller-coaster, it is well worth the ride!

I tried to read one of his books someone had given me for free, but I honestly couldn't get past the first page. The sentence structure was appalling! I think it was the Notebook that I tried to read.

Nicholas Sparks is one of the few romance authors I will read, just because he is a MAN who is writing these stories :) They are all pretty quick reads and make me think ahile after the book is done before I can move on to my next book.

His books are my favourite books to take away with me on my holidays. I get so immersed in his stories, I'm always devastated when they end. I couldn't even tell you my favourite because they are all so lovely and unique in their own way

His books are always so beautiful, yet I know what to expect when I start one; death, love, and tears on my end.

Grab Nicholas if you want to fall in love. He is so good at striking the inner chords of the heart. :) I first read his "Message in a Bottle", which for me is something very sweet and original. The sequel to The Notebook, which is The Wedding, is very lovely. The characters are advanced in age, just like in the Nights in Rodanthe, but the story proves that love knows no age at all. It's just very sweet.

I have never been able to get through an entire Nicholas Sparks book. Everyone tells me that I should try certain ones, but every time it's the same.

I have loved everything of his that I have read. Why shouldn't a man be able to write these types of books? He has a special talent at drawing you in and getting to the heart of it, to touch your heart and make you feel the emotions.
