The journey from childhood trauma to a bipolar diagnosis in "Teetering on a Tightrope" paints a poignant picture. I'm eager to delve into the complexities of inherited struggles and societal influences in this well-written memoir by Steven W Wilson.

The book sound interesting as the author decides to write about mental health disorders. I love that the author gets to tell us that there are other ways of getting the mental disorder as many of us think you get it from traumatic experience. I would love to read the book as it is eye opening for us to take care of our mental health and to sometimes seek research on things.

It such a pity how people don't have conscience and have to carry out an act that affects the mental health of a young child. This would be an enlightening book and would definitely go through it.

This is such a great book, as someone facing mental problems himself is writing a book. No matter how well-learned, a doctor won't be able to describe things as vividly as someone who has experienced them. As a society, we already have less knowledge about psychological disorders. Congratulations on BOTD, and best wishes for future projects.

My heart bleeds for him. The poor man didn’t have a very happy childhood, and the incident of sexual abuse was horrific. Hope fully he is healing himself by opening up and telling his story. I have a close relative who is bipolar and they find it difficult to cope. Hi writing is compelling and interesting. A brave and engrossing book.

It must have been really painful and horrifying for him to be sexually abused by a stranger at the age of 9. I really want to know how he has overcome it. Thank you for a great review.

A lovely well-balanced review. Thank you.
An interesting book, the sample leaves one shocked but seeking more. Sexual abuse is a common reality and I am glad the author dared to reveal such an experience in this book.
Bipolar is something I am familiar with from the outside, I have witnessed the varying degrees of impact it can have on families and lives. Looking at this through the eyes of Steven. W. Wilson is a great opportunity to learn more about this illness and its challenges ( Most people I know don't talk about it in detail). Congratulations to the author!

It's interesting question for sure if mental health could be hereditary. It might as well just be coincidental or learned, though. Either way this will definitely be a heavy book to read.

I haven’t had to deal with mental health issues, none of my family suffers from it. I can see, though, from Steven and his family’s experience that it does seem to run in families, or maybe it’s because they’re in the same environment. It’s hard to say. Congratulations on BOTD!

"Teetering on a Tightrope: My Bipolar Journey" is a memoir by Steven W. Wilson, reflecting on his lifelong struggle with bipolar disorder, triggered by childhood trauma. The book explores the intersection of personal experience and inherited mental health issues, set against the backdrop of societal and historical events. Wilson’s narrative is honest and clear, though predominantly somber, focusing on his challenges more than his triumphs. Professionally edited with few errors, this memoir is recommended for adults interested in a personal perspective on bipolar disorder, albeit with a caution for its heavy themes.

This book is something that I need to read. I have a grandson who is bipolar and it is a very hard condition to understand. Maybe I can get some insight from reading this book. You did a good job on the review stating the good and bad points.

The author faced many challenges and difficulties with his mental health ever since the sexual assault and the author talks about the role of genetics and trauma in mental health. It looks like an interesting but somber book. Thank you for your review.

This is an interesting read by an older adult who tells his memories about a life full of challenges and strong experiences that do not happen to many people and that forever marked his life and mental health. Thank you for suggesting this book. #BOTD
