I've heard about bipolar disorder, so this book got me hooked. I would love to understand bipolar disorder through the eyes of a person's life, but I would also like the book to develop a broader focus by not only paying attention to the dark moments and challenging consequences of such a disorder but also to the good times that all people on earth can also experience regardless.

I like that there are more and more books focusing on mental health. "Teetering on a Tightrope" is a chance to learn about bipolar disorder through the eyes of someone who has struggled with it most of his life after a traumatic experience as a child. Thanks for the review, and congrats on BOTD!

A look back into the life of the author as he struggled with depression and Type 2 bipolar disorder. Through the eyes of the author, we see how his relationships take shape, his thoughts about whether mental health issues are a generational passdown, as well as the environment he grew up in. The discussion on the Vietnam War and the fashion of the 1970’s set up the timeline for the story. Your review has briefly summarized these points, making it easy for the readers to make a choice.

Reading about mental issues from the perspective of a victim will give this memoir a good touch of authenticity. I like the way he book addresses the reality of mental issues however, the flat tone could discourage many readers.

I loved the book sample, I wish I could've read more of it. I am going to give it a 4/5 because of some errors I noticed but all in it's a good and somehow, motivating story filled with the struggle with depression and sexual identity which should be payed attention to.

I have only read the beginning offered by amazon. And I must admit I was very very attracted to the book. It is quite intense in describing feelings and made me feel like I was living the story.

The description of how relationships can affect mental health is pure and genuine and most of all relatable.

The author has done a very good work in describing in the first 3 chapters what seems to be a whole world to be explored. And perhaps to those of us who cannot understand, to view the situation from a different perspective.

Very well done definitely recommend.

"Teetering on a Tightrope" gives insights on bipolar disorder through the author's life. Mental health issues are still a serious concern that needs to be addressed. Childhood traumas are some of the factors that contribute to it, from the author's perspective. Congratulations on being #BOTD!

I do believe that mental health issues can be given to children via DNA; there are many studies I have read that have noticed a correlation. This read will be an informative one for sure. Thanks for the review!

Teetering on a Tightrope is an interesting book that explores the experiences of Steven W. Wilson, a nine-year-old with bipolar disorder, from his terrifying theater experience to his suicidal thoughts and eventual hospitalization. Wilson shares his irrational thoughts and rage, he also highlighs the moments of normalcy and happiness. It's a very interesting. The review is good as well. Thanks

This review is quiet educating. I think I understand better what bipolar disorder means. The book discusses issues arising from poor mental health. It's indeed a must read.

Bipolar disorder is a very sensitive issue to discuss in a book so I commend the author for sharing his struggles and challenges he faced due to this mental health concern. Real stories provide learning and much information; this book will be beneficial to readers.

This sounds like a really insightful and deep read about the author's experience with abuse in his childhood and how it affected his life. And from your review I gathered that is was really hard to read with how badly the author reacted to his abuse. Sounds like a heavy read indeed, thanks for the review!
