I also found the flaw in the ability of the characters to communicate properly in English to be a reflection of life in the small town they lived in.

This sounds like an interesting story, and I think I'll check it out. Your statement above intrigues me. I wonder if the flaw in "proper English" is in reference to their Southern accent. I guess I'll find out! :)

Thank you for your recommendation, and thanks to the author for the free copy. Congrats on BOTD.

I'm all for reading crime and murder mysteries and this one sounds great, especially with vivid descriptions, kudos to the author for that. I'm very curious to read Brad's story.

The narrative introduces Peter Dewberry, a middle-aged man on a nighttime quest to recover his son's stolen bike. Ignoring caution, he traverses the 'dark' corners of Harper, leading to unforeseen consequences. As the story evolves, Peter's inability to return home creates an intriguing twist. The looming uncertainty surrounding his disappearance sets the stage for a search party to determine the truth behind the rumors. Thorne crafts a mysterious and engaging storyline, piquing readers' interest with the unusual events in Harper.

A mystery to read about. What led to Peter's son's bike to be missing and why was he able to find the bike but could not return home. An interesting storyline and congrats on BOTD.

I love how the author was able to connect all of the characters eventually. The small town setting definitely aids in keeping the story mysterious for the reader too. Thanks for the review!

Harper’s Bizarre by Mike Thorne is a thrilling novel. I found myself in the suspenseful scenes, especially when Peter was trapped by his son's lost bicycle in the middle of the night. However, to know what's next, I recommend that you check out this book. Congrats on BOTD!

I am not a fan of bizzare stories, as they always make shivers run down my spine. Even when I read this review, I was not that comfortable with what I felt. I am sure some people will love it though, even my friends are fan of such stories.

I so much value a writer's ability to describe things and people, and this book has just that. On top of that, the bizarre stories taking place in Harper add to the thrill and suspense of the book.

I like that the book is very descriptive and literal, such that there are no abstract concepts. Crime novels rely heavily on the imagination of a reader and the more details provided the better the book is digested. So I appreciate that detail from the author. Just from the review itself, I can tell this small town is far from ordinary and would like to know what other rumors are there aside from Peter and Brad.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting collection of thriller stories set in the small town of Harper following a set of disappearances. This might be worth a second look. Well done.
