I'm not a poetry reader, but the painful reality painted by this collection piqued my interest like no other. Seeing the world through the eyes of those who suffer from the consequences of war on their doorstep is an eye-opener to perspectives I never considered before. Congrats on BOTD!

I am not a real fan of poetry. It seems to be the most difficult way to get te point across, but I am glad that there is something for everyone to enjoy. I never thought about the Syrian people having to continue their regular lives, but why wouldn’t they? Congratulations on BOTD!

Seif-Eldeine's evocative poetry transcended mere words, offering a glimpse into the resilience of people facing unimaginable challenges. The imagery of children playing on rubble and the heart-wrenching tale of a refugee bride struck a chord within me.
I believe in something greater than myself.

Definitely not my cup of tea, due to my utter dislike of poetry in any form, shape and type. I am a straight to the point kind of person and prefer to say what I think and this way of artfully hiding the meaning of words behind metaphors is against my nature. Sorry, I will have to skip, but congrats with BOTD, anyway!

From what I'm hearing in your review, it sounds like this book deeply humanizes the people in Syria. Whenever we read the news, it is super easy to get carried away and just think that the things you are hearing are like long distant stories that don't truly matter in the day to day life. This collection of poems sounds like just the thing to highlight the importance of empathy and awareness for those that live in a war-ridden country.

I am not much into poetry, but I appreciate the author for giving a voice to the people of Syria, who live in circumstances we cannot even begin to imagine. I would imagine this is a very emotional, thought-provoking read. Thank you for the wonderful review!

Poems are not my cup of tea, but I like the idea of reporting the Syrian Civil War through them. This book seems to be a powerful tool that shows the war unconventionally.

While I don't usually read poetry books, this one seems like a must-read because of how it depicts the lives of ordinary Syrian people and their struggles. The poems must be touching.

The theme of war in a book is a heavy genre to take in and stories told through Seif-Eldeine’s poems make them more emotional and heartbreaking. Congrats to the author for sharing their talent to readers.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting collection of poems focusing on the impact of the war in Syria on the Syrian people. It is worth a second look. Well done.

Thank you for a brilliant review. "Voices from a Forgotten Letter" by Seif-Eldeine sounds emotional. I have a deep impression that the author is a great poet. Indeed, life goes on and we must be strong to face the future again. Congrats on BOTD.
