This was a very beautiful and emotive review. I normally don't read poetry but I will check this book out because of this and educate myself on the happenings in Syria.

“Voices from a Forgotten Letter” by Seif-Eldeine is a collection of poems about the impact of the Civil War in Syria. Some of the poems focus on how people totally regard rules and will violate the rules in front of a sing forbidding what they are doing. Other poems are about refugees living the life of slaves and woman that are forced to men they do not love and must submit themselves to the nightly torture in bed. Many of the poems focus on the good side of life like working, marrying, caring for and raising families. One poem focuses on the last thoughts of a dying soldier. The sample was very brief but the official review was very good.

'Voices From a Forgotten Letter' offers a poignant and powerful poetic journey into the heart of the Syrian Civil War. Seif-Eldeine's verses paint vivid, heart-wrenching images of life amidst chaos, giving voice to the unspoken struggles and resilience of the Syrian people. Congratulations on being BOTD!

Love to hear about books that evoke strong imagery; it just points out how well the author can warp his words for the reader's enjoyment.

The review is a distinctive display of human experience in war-torn countries and the suffering experience, Even, though people still forge ahead against all the odds. Syrian people are strong-willed. The families stick to their responsibilities of taking care of their lives.

The cathartic nature of poetry always gets to me. An excellent review, indeed! Thanks for the insights because as I started enjoying the sample, it was finished! I need to read these poems. Congrats to the writer on what seems to be a poignant, educative masterpiece.

"Voices from a Forgotten Letter" by Seif-Eldeine. An interesting poetry book, talks about the impact of war in Syria and the continuation of life. A lot of stories from the Syrian people. The story is touching, inspiring. There are dreams that couldn't be achieved. Soldiers dying unexpectedly and all sorts. Congrats on your #BOTD.

Voices from a Forgotten Letter by Seif-Eldeine fabulously depicts the impacts of war in Syria, and the voices never heard before seem to find poetic expression in this book.

Hmmm, what a sad poem! the reality of life is that it goes on. One minute a noble person dies and the world pauses, the next minute they're celebrating a wedding ceremony and everyone is celebrating like they didn't finish mourning a great person. That's just how it is everywhere.

Thanks for the review! I like poetry, but this takes the heartache to a whole different level. There are so many new perspectives from the Syrian civil war that I never knew about. I thank the author for this, but at the same time looking at the magnitude of suffering, wish it was never written. My heart reaches out to the author and the people in Syria. May peace come upon, and may they all recover from the abuse and trauma in no time.

I'm not really one for poems but I do think this is something I must read. It's sound raw and beautiful at the same time and it seems like the author expertly captured the people feelings and thoughts during the war. Thanks for an insightful review. Congrats on BOTD.

War is what happens when language fails.

Margaret Atwood

The reviewer is right, the poems are touching. The media rarely covers what is happening to the normal citizen in a war torn country. That they have to fulfill the mundane tasks of life while hopelessly waiting for help. Thank you for the detailed review unfortunately, war poetry is one of the few sub genres that I pass.
