I would have to go with paper books because they feel so good in your hands

Paper book all the way. I love the traditional form of reading. The idea of reading a book on a screen already makes my eyes hurt. At least with a traditional paper book you don't have to worry about keeping anything charged, plugged in, or having to worry about losing all your stored ebooks in case of a technological issue.

Such luck! Scrolling through a list of topics with the hope that I might actually have a clear opinion on one ( I tend to be very pussyfooted with most topics) and here it just leaps at me from the screen. PAPER! PAPER! PAPER! I can't shout it loud enough. Being a relatively young person I am surrounded by screens. From the sleek smart phone alarm I see as my first image of the day, to the flat screen T.V murmuring in the background as I regretfully get ready for work, the robotic voiced GPS in the car, the pix-elated flashing ad's in the store windows, the computer screen in sterile grey cuticle...Ok! Ok! Enough! At the end of dealing with this fast-pace, technologically advanced yet emotionally devoid daily routine I curl up with a simple book. It doesn't have a power button. No, I can't adjust the words per page or increase the lighting for nighttime reading. There are no apps or browsers. It has neither buffering nor loading time. It is just a book. But as I smell the paper pages, run my fingers along the rough beaten cover and dog-ear my most recently devoured page I feel connected to the book . Not just the ideas it holds or the story it tells, but the book itself. I suppose you could call the words the soul and the cover the body. We fall in love with the soul, but sometimes we just want to cop a feel.

I used to swear I would never switch to ebooks. Now I'm definitely a convert. With an ereader, I can carry an entire library around with me. The biggest seller for me is being able to read without having to worry about having the light on, since I have never found a reading light that worked for me.

That being said, I still drool upon entering a library or bookstore. The smell always taps into my appetite for reading and makes me hungry at the possibilities.

I love my Kindle but I also love the feel and smell of an actual book. All though my Kindle has made it covenant for me to read in bed at night after my husband has fallen asleep without having to worry about the light waking him up, and I can travel with it and don't have to worry about finishing one book and not having another to read with me. I have taken to buying those books that I love in hard copy after I have read them on my Kindle and know that I will read them again. I guess my opinion is though I am traditional at heart and would take an actual book over an ereader any day, I have come to appreciate the conveniences that my Kindle offers me and can enjoy a book in that fashion too! :)

I honestly enjoy both. I have a life dream of having my own personal library one day. Right now I have a personal library on my phone but that is helping me make listen of actual books to buy :)

I have a Kindle on my laptop, and I have a bunch of paper books too. I like the Kindle, but every so often, it agitates my eyes, and nothing compares to actually holding the book in your hands and turning the page, or smelling the pages of a brand new book. So I would have to say paper book over the ebook any day. :P

I like them both but honestly my favorite is an actual book, i love the feel of it and the smell.the convenience of the ebook is undeniable though, when reading while my 1 year old is playing it is so much easier to use my kindle so i dont accidentally close the book and lose my page and so my daughter doesnt rip the pages....but when she is asleep i love to have a real book to curl up with

There is something inherently romantic about holding a real book. Maybe it's the smell or the way the pages feel. In fact, my dream in life is to one day open a used book shop. It is safe to say I love real books. However, as book addicted college student attending school 2000 miles from home, I do also love my Kindle because it allows me to carry my books with me wherever I go. Honestly though, I love both real and digital books, just for different reasons.

I definitely prefer to have a book in my hands that I can flip the pages of. For some reason a story seems so much more magical and imaginative when it is conveyed through a book that can add color to a bookshelf.

I do admit I like the old-fashioned way. Nothing compares to lying in bed, or at the base of a tree in a park, flipping the pages of a book and feeling its texture against your fingertips. However, I don't mind e-books. I read books in an e-book format as well.

I love my Nook, but I do find that I like to hold an old fashioned book in hands every now and then!! However, I do prefer to use my Nook because I can have hundreds of books at my finger tips.

I love my ereader. It saves trees and the cost of printing books

I think kindles are great for practicality, however; I still prefer the texture and feel of books.
