Contemplacion: Thoughts and Poems" by Ileana Gonzalez Monserrat is a bilingual poetry book containing poems in both English and Spanish. I personally enjoyed the inspirational poems that draw from the author's life experience. Congratulations on being named BOTD (Book of the Day)!

I don't really enjoy poetry, and I cannot speak or read Spanish. Not understanding some of the poems would be frustrating to me. However, I appreciate the autobiographical nature of this poetry collection, and I am curious about the author's travels and her path in life; the latter obviously has not been the easiest. Thank you for the lovely review!

‪Contemplacion has a very nice collection of English and Spanish poems. They are not translated. If you speak only one of them you can still enjoy the book. The poems discuss many topics, but its main focus is overcoming the pain and life hardships.

I'm not much of a poetry enthusiast, so I don't think this book is up my alley. Nonetheless, the concept of having poems in two languages is fascinating to me. It might be enjoyable to analyze the differences between the two languages. Poetry often has a personal touch and a human feel to it. I'm confident that readers will find something of value in this book.

I wish I also understood Spanish so that I can read this book and understand it wholly. But since the reviewer only understands English and was able to comprehend it, I would equally enjoy it. I love poetry and I love when it had personal anecdotes such as fighting to overcome a traumatizing experience. That's something that a lot of people, including me, can relate to.

Poetry is not my cup of tea but the review is very enthusiastic. The author not only expressed her thoughts in the poems but provided personal photos to tell more about herself. And the use of two languages gives the reader an opportunity either to learn another language or to remember at least a couple of words from a different language which is also good. Congratuilations on becoming BOTD!

The idea of mixing English and Spanish poems was new and appealing. I don't speak Spanish, and I completely enjoyed the book. I believe the writer had a point of view on this mixture. Many pages had two poems in each of the two languages.

- I was hooked, from the minute I knew it was a compilation of poems. The English/Spanish mixture appealed to me too and although I didn't understand the Spanish, I liked how it rolled off the tongue. A magnifique review. Gracias.

The author talks about the beautiful places she visits and the emotional hurdles in her life. Her father’s absence from her life was discussed in her poems. She uses easy and comprehensible language in her poetry, which makes for a joyous read.

Contemplation seems like a wonderful poetry book. I like that the author decided to write the poems in both English and Spanish. Bilingual people can enjoy the poems as they are. I also like that the author shared her personal experience in her work.
