I am fascinated by the many topics that were discussed and explored in this poetry book. I am intrigued by the traumatizing experience the author had and how she fought to overcome it. She talked about her father, who was away for many years. I am interested in learning about the different places the author has travelled to like America and Turkey.

The book presents a unique approach by featuring poems in both English and Spanish. The decision not to translate the poems but rather present them in their original languages adds a layer of authenticity and cultural richness to the collection. Congratulations on your BOTD.

'Official Review: Contemplacion: Thoughts and Poems' by Ileana Gonzalez Monserrat relates the relevant details of the poetry book for readers. It provides us with the exact picture of the writer's work. The point that the writer discusses many topics, the most significant one of which was overcoming what we went through is worth mentioning in the review. Another point worth readers' attention is that the writer is a traveler and wrote poems about the places she loved. Also, as mentioned in the review, she has gone through a lot but she encourages standing up and moving on. Learning about poetry as the voice of our collective soul was great!

This is such a peculiar concept! Poems in two languages in a single collection is such a great idea, because the biggest problem with expressing oneself when you know two languages is that some things are better said in your first language and others in your second one. As a bilingual I understand this completely. Thank you for saying the author uses a simpler and clear language. Since I have some difficulties with poems, this would definitely help me!

Interesting. We don't often see bilingual books. Surely the author is skilled poet. I appreciate the autobiographical nature of this collection. Poetry really isn't my thing. I don't understand Spanish either. This book will find its intended readers. Thank you for a well-written review.

It's rare to come across a poem written in simple English. This is what made me dislike poems entirely. I would love to read this one since the reviewer said it's straightforward. By the way kudos to the author for winning BOTD!

I must admit that I've never heard of a 2 language poetry book but that's what makes it unique and this triggers my interest. Although I'm not fond of poetry, I'm definitely trying this one, it's seems like the author added a little bit extra of her soul into the book. Thanks for a great review.

The personal struggles Gonzalez Monserrat shares, particularly with her absent father, resonate deeply, and her fighting spirit is both inspiring and empowering.
