What You Can Do in Three Minutes by Allyn Raifstanger is a book that aims to improve various aspects of our day-to-day lives by strategically using three minutes of our time. The book introduces The Three Minute Challenge (3MC) as a mind-bender that can promote harmony in personal and professional spaces. It can also help us improve our health and relationships. One can also implement the 3MC in other areas that we may wish to enhance. Allyn remembers his father often saying, "Life is a cinch, inch by inch, and hard yard by yard." The foundation of the 3MC theory also lies in taking baby steps and avoiding procrastination. It can make even the most complex tasks seem fun and manageable.

Have you ever postponed a chore or a small task for later and then regretted not attending to it in the first place? Even if we don't follow a routine, we all make it a point to complete the unavoidable tasks. We tend to postpone the rest, and before we realize it, these small tasks become a hindrance and end up requiring an immense amount of time and effort.

For example, a home or office space that is not kept clean and organized can become cluttered. It will take a lot of time and effort to restore order. Similarly, when we don't nurture our relationships with quality time, love, and affection, they may end up costing us our marriage, a severed bond between a parent and a child, or even our siblings and friends.

The author suggests using 3 minutes to accomplish any small task that needs attention. For instance, writing a note to loved ones or attending to a minor chore in the kitchen can be done in just 3 minutes. Making a mind map for a chapter doesn't take long, but it saves a lot of time and effort when revising the chapter. Similarly, preparing a grocery list in advance can save time and money. Investing 3 minutes to pack healthy snacks for mid-morning hunger pangs can save money and ensure healthy snacking. The author has furnished enough examples to explain how it has helped him.

I vouch that 3MC is a practical tool, as I practice quite a few of the suggestions myself. Thanks to the book, I am now encouraged to pay more attention to these opportunities. All it requires is a change of mindset. By incorporating them into our daily routine, we can make the most of our limited time and improve our quality of life and relationships.

The book is 69 pages long and covers several areas of life, such as relationships with partners, children, and society, spiritual growth, health, work, etc. I appreciate the simple writing style that is clear of any complex jargon. I also appreciate that the author has provided more than sufficient prompts at the end of each chapter that are enough to help us start. These can be tweaked based on personal needs.

I read the book in Kindle format and suggest the author consider adding an index in future editions to allow easy access to the specific chapters. This is not a major issue and does not merit a lower grade. The editing is spot-on, and the editors have done a great job. Considering all the aspects, I rate this book five out of five stars.

I recommend it to anyone who procrastinates and finds it challenging to get tasks done. The author offers the 3MC model, which is practical and will prove useful. Each 3-minute investment is sure to go a long way toward organizing life, bringing harmony to the daily routine, and improving the quality of life of stay-at-home moms, professionals, students, and health and fitness watchers.
