ARA Review by Gabriel Valencia of Fish Wielder

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

Fish Wielder, penned by the imaginative J.R.R.R. (Jim) Hardison, is a delightful journey into the realms of humor and fantasy. This unconventional tale, while light-hearted in nature, weaves together elements of epic adventure and absurdity in a way that captivates readers from start to finish.

At the heart of the narrative is a seemingly unassuming fish named Fish and his unsuspecting wielder, a young man named Fish Wielder. As the story unfolds, readers are taken on a wild and unpredictable adventure filled with a quirky cast of characters, including the eccentric Princess Rini, a talking pig, and a band of unlikely heroes. Hardison's ability to inject humor into every situation ensures that the novel maintains a playful tone throughout.

One of the standout features of Fish Wielder is the author's keen sense of parody, taking a satirical approach to the traditional fantasy genre. The story playfully pokes fun at familiar tropes while creating a unique and engaging world of its own. The humor is clever, often subtle, and appeals to readers of various ages.

Hardison's writing style is engaging, with a fast-paced narrative that keeps the reader hooked. The dialogue is witty, and the author's comedic timing is impeccable. The world-building, while whimsical, is also surprisingly intricate, revealing layers of creativity that add depth to the story.

As the characters embark on their quest, facing absurd challenges and encountering bizarre creatures, Fish Wielder manages to balance humor with moments of genuine emotion. Beneath the laughs, there's a subtle exploration of friendship, courage, and the unexpected heroes that can emerge in the most unlikely circumstances.

In conclusion, Fish Wielder is a delightful and offbeat addition to the fantasy genre. J.R.R.R. Hardison's comedic brilliance, coupled with a unique storyline and memorable characters, makes this novel a must-read for those seeking a lighthearted escape into a world where fish can be wielded, and the absurdity of adventure reigns supreme. I rate it 4 out of 5 stars.
