ARA Review by Camille Downey of Chosen by the Creator

The ARA Review Exchange is a system in which authors review other authors' books, generlaly in exchange for getting their own book reviews by other authors. However, the person who reviews a author's book is not the same person whose book that author reviewed. This way, author reviews do not influence each other, such as by an author being inclined to reward a good review by deliving one in return or deliver a negative review as revenge.

"Chosen by the Creator: Bible Stories" by Brenda Mohammed is a compelling exploration of biblical narratives that aims to illuminate God's overarching plan for humanity. Multi-award-winning author Brenda Mohammed navigates through the inspiring stories of men and women chosen by God to fulfill His divine purpose, challenging readers to reconsider their perspectives.

The book unfolds chronologically, starting from the stories in Genesis and culminating in The Revelation. As readers delve into the pages, they witness the fulfillment of God's promise to Abraham through the redemptive act of Jesus Christ, extending eternal life and the kingdom of God to people of all tribes, tongues, and nations. Mohammed's work has garnered acclaim, earning a five-star review from Readers’ Favorite International, praising her ability to trace the lineage of descendants and providing additional valuable insights, such as the significance of having one's name in the Book of Life.

In her retelling, Brenda Mohammed reinforces her belief in the Bible as God's biography, as penned by His chosen ones. Drawing on biblical quotations, Mohammed skillfully connects the contents of each book to the overarching narrative. The reviewer, Lois Henderson, commends Mohammed for her accessible and straightforward language, making the stories approachable for newcomers to the Bible. Henderson particularly appreciates Mohammed's clarity in highlighting the primary focus of each book and her earnest call for obedience to God's word.

Despite acknowledging that "Chosen by the Creator: Bible Stories" serves as a valuable supplement to the Bible, Mohammed makes it clear that her work is not intended as a replacement but as a sincere effort to illuminate the genuineness and authenticity of the divine source. Overall, the book stands as a testament to Mohammed's dedication to sharing the stories of God's chosen ones from both the Old and New Testaments with clarity and conviction.

While "Chosen by the Creator: Bible Stories" by Brenda Mohammed receives praise for its compelling exploration of biblical narratives and the author's clear and accessible writing style, there may be reasons to assign a 4 out of 5. One possible consideration could be personal preferences or expectations. Individual readers may have specific criteria or preferences for a five-star rating, and if the book doesn't completely align with those criteria, a slightly lower rating might be appropriate.

Additionally, factors such as pacing, depth of analysis, or the level of engagement with certain stories could influence a reader's assessment. If there were areas where the book could have delved deeper into certain aspects of the Bible or provided more in-depth insights, some readers might assign a 4-star rating. It's also possible that the reader's familiarity with the subject matter or personal beliefs might influence their rating. For those well-versed in biblical stories or specific theological perspectives, the book may be perceived differently compared to readers who are newer to the subject matter. Ultimately, a 4-star rating doesn't necessarily indicate dissatisfaction but may suggest that while the book is highly commendable, there is room for improvement or that it falls just short of meeting certain expectations. It's essential to consider individual preferences and expectations when assigning ratings to any book.
