The Pledge, Kimberly Derting

The Pledge is probably one of the most interesting books I have ever read. It combines the genres of fantasy, dystopia and a bit of paranormal all into one package. Set in the country of Ludania, the novel follows 17 year old Charlaina, a girl with an unusual ability. In Ludania , society is divided into classes based on jobs, and each class can only speak its own language (in addition to Englaise) or else execution is inevitable. Charlie however can speak and understand every language, a deadly gift.
I loved this book/and series and I STRONGLY recommend it to anyone who enjoys fantasy, dystopia and even paranormal.
