Starting in life with the knowledge that your father abandoned you and your mother, is a situation that can easily lend itself to all sorts of psychological problems. The protagonist did not love his stepfather and his stepfather didn't seem to love him either, although he left his business to his stepson. The fish house sounds like a great fiction book about a guy just wanting to be happy after being abandoned by his father. Does he ever see his biological father again? I hope he finds happiness in the end. I also hope all the errors get fixed so it’s a more enjoyable read. I think I will wait until it has more rounds of editing before attempting to read it. This book sounds like a very interesting read based on the review provided here. I read the sample available on Amazon, and I was not hooked on the writing style the way the reviewer was. I do find the descriptions of the therapy sessions to be intriguing, however I have read books before where there is a sharp transition between tones that do not seem to flow well and I did not enjoy it. For this reason, I am not interested in reading this novel.
